Sometimes when I hear people complaining about the government not giving us one hundred percent information on certain things, I ask myself if we really are ready for that.
First of all, this post is in no way in support of government hiding stuff from us or trying to justify that (because I do believe there are certain things they keep from us that we do need to know about), it's just that it's not every information that we should have, and this is due to how crazy a lot of things could get when people hear certain things and act on impulse.
But you see, the government isn't the only body that I feel has to keep certain things a secret, the entertainment industry needs to too...and this is because it is some of these secrets that makes watching them do their thing a lot more interesting.
A good example is the WWE universe. Back in the day as kids, one of the interesting things about watching a wrestling match is trying to figure out if it's real or just acting. And I remember I and my friends would spend hours on this, carefully watching the matches, to see if they were indeed landing the punches or pretending to.
After a while, we all finally gave in and believed it was real due to the fact that some of the wrestlers do bleed during their matches. But as time went on, I soon got to find out that it wasn't real after all, and I had taken that information to my friends who as expected, doubted me because they still believed it to be real.
But funny enough, something about this back and forth argument actually contributed to how much I enjoyed watching wrestling back in the day, unfortunately I don't think this current generation can say the same because nowadays, all I see everywhere are old prefessional wrestlers, going on interviews and podcasts, giving a review of their previous matches and spilling all the secrets that made those matches fun.
And although it still feels good hearing them talk about these things, it sort of takes away that one thing that made it intriguing for me back in the day, because now I'm no longer asking the question if it's real or not, because now I know for a fact it's not.
So yeah, sometimes too much information isn't exactly a good thing.
