Trump Trying to Heavily Redact Special Counsel Report
Donald Trump’s lawyers are scrambling to get ahead of what could be this election’s October surprise: the public release of special counsel Jack Smith’s report detailing evidence in the election fraud case against the former president.
In a court filing on Tuesday, Trump’s legal team accused the Department of Justice of putting together a ‘politically motivated manifesto’ specifically timed to influence voters ‘in the final weeks of the 2024 Presidential election while early voting has already begun throughout the United States.’
They asked U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan to highly redact the report or stop it from appearing in the court’s public docket altogether.
If I had to guess, my money would be on a hard NO from Chutkan.
The Only Question That Mattered in the Debate
In Tuesday night’s vice presidential debate, JD Vance and Tim Walz covered lots of issues: inflation, housing, guns, abortion, immigration, health care, and much more.
But there was only one question on which the vice presidency—the job for which these two men are competing—really matters. That question was whether they would certify the results of the next presidential election. And on that subject, Vance gave a non-answer that instantly disqualifies him: He refused to acknowledge that Donald Trump lost the 2020 election.
Don Jr. Forgot Vance Compared His Father to Hitler
Donald Trump Jr. lashed out at anyone who would compare his father to Adolf Hitler as he appeared on a CNN special after Tuesday’s vice presidential debate.
He forgot one thing: that the man he was supposed to be stumping for, Donald Trump’s running mate JD Vance, did exactly that himself.
Violence as a Political Weapon
Donald Trump’s enthusiasm for violence — including torture, extra-judicial murder and shooting both migrants and protesters — has been a consistent theme of his politics since he first announced he was running for president.
That’s why Trump’s remarks over the weekend calling for “one real rough, nasty day” of police violence barely made headlines.
Say Goodbye to Truth If Trump and Vance Win
We will miss the U.S. government’s science, data and facts — you know, the info we need to survive hurricanes and wildfires, draw congressional districts, open a business, decide what to wear — when they’re gone.
Trump made frightening progress in turning the government into a propaganda and disinformation machine. He’d finish the job with a supercharged Vance at his side.
