Beyond hard work; the need for smart advancement

in #hive-15385011 days ago

Education is the best legacy; it is what we have always heard ever since we were little, and this same education is what our government never has time to take care of so that every student can enjoy education.

I remember when my elder brother and sisters always carried one small slate to school, which served as a notebook, and during our era, we had access to books even though it wasn't much because it was too expensive back then.

Things keep getting advanced day in and day out, but education is the only thing I haven't seen so much advancement in because here in Nigeria they believe it is better the way it is now.

There is a quote that says, "It is not how far but how well." We live in an era where some hard work never pays and smart work keeps bringing more money for some people.

My mom always says something like "Ise ko ni owo," or "Working hard doesn't guarantee success," and that is why it is better now to be smart than to work so hard for nothing at the end of everything.

Now let's bring that into the education sector. There are lots of things we lack here in Africa when it comes to smart education, probably because how the government doesn't take education more seriously to take care of.

I haven't been abroad before, but based on most American movies that I have watched, I believe their students are examples of smart students, unlike here in Nigeria, where all we do is write notes with books that some students don't even understand.

Sometimes when I see some students with big bags full of books, I wonder what subject they are doing in school to make them have so many books like that. Like I said earlier, it is not how far but how far. Despite the plenty of notebooks and plenty of textbooks, some students are still not good with education.

I believe if smart education is being introduced to our education sector, most children will understand education better than just writing it down, which they wouldn't read later when they get home.

Looking at how much children love gadgets nowadays, you can tell that they will quickly grab whatever they learn on the gadgets rather than the one written on the board for them.

There are limits to everything in life, so for that reason, I don't think smart education should step up to the extent that students can access their phones during exams because some students wouldn't want to read anymore since they can easily Google answers on their phone and then write them down. Such a thing would crash education for the next generation.

As much as I want smart education in this country, I can never support students going to class with phones because it will serve as a distraction to them while their teachers are busy teaching them.

Such upgrades will only cause more exam malpractice, and it will affect those who are willing to learn because they won't feel the need to read for exams anymore since they have their phones with them in the exam hall.

Since there would be gadgets for lectures and there would always be Internet in the classroom for every student, there would be no need for their phones in the classroom.

If only our education system here in Nigeria can improve to a smart one, then I am sure most students will find school fun to go to.

Education and stress in Nigeria are 5&6, these people make us feel like it's the stress that will determine how successful you will be meanwhile, that's not the case.

A lot has to change in the educational system and I don't see any changes happening because those in power still think we're in the 19th century.

LoL 😂 I remember those when we had to write for hours just because there was no Internet to Google.
Education here in Nigeria is more stressful than working gan sef
