Back then, I was among those who would wish and pray for a miracle to happen whereby someone would just mistakenly send money into my account. But who would dare want to make such a mistake except in some rare situations where it happens. No one wants to make a mistake sending money to someone else or even losing such a thing and someone from nowhere would assume it's a miracle from God, especially when the individual is in dire need at that point.
I know you did that too. Even while going on the road, you wish that money could be on the ground and you just bend down to take it. Well, what I do believe now is that no one would want to make such a mistake or be careless to lose their earned money, but there is always the good spirit from God instructing a fellow to bless another. This is something God can do.
But yes, I still would think some make mistakes unconsciously and the other person who receives such would assume it's a miracle. I don't think so. A miracle isn't done through someone else's mistake because God isn't wicked enough to demote His own children for another. God only deals with the unrighteous or wicked ones for His children's sake and that is what I can call a miracle when there is a breakthrough for such a person.
I was one of those persons who mistakenly sent money to the wrong account and it happened yesterday. Something good happened to me which @nkemakonam89 would understand because I had to share my joyful moment with her. The excitement on my face yesterday knew no bounds because this was something I had been expecting since the beginning of the year, in fact, I had to share the testimony during Sunday School service 😀
In the thrill of the moment, I mistakenly loaded an airtime of three thousand, five hundred naira to a wrong number instead of one of my numbers for data subscription which I didn't mean to. The number began with 091 but I typed in 081... and that was how the money went into voicemail. It took me a while to realise the mistake as I kept refreshing the Mtn app on my phone perhaps the network delayed it.
Did I say voicemail?
Oh yes! I never thought of trying the number at first because I have concluded it is gone. However, I was so pained because it was a mistake on my end. If only I had taken a look at the number once more, such a thing wouldn't have happened. A friend suggested I call the number but was hesitant because I was like, "Of what use?" I replied to him and said, "Well, I will try if we still have honest people on this earth"
Remember I said, someone who would get such would think it's a blessing from God, not knowing it's an error from the other end. That to me, isn't a miracle or blessing; it's just luck I guess.
My friend told me I should try and hoped the person would be kind and honest just like me to return it or perhaps come up with different excuses not to return it. Of course, I would understand if he or she is honest to reply calmly and not one who would be dishonest about it.
So, I tried calling the number till last night but was switched off. Same thing I did when I got back from church. I had another thought, "What if the number doesn't exist?" I explained this to my friend and he thought the same thing. Now, I have concluded that the money has gone to voicemail as I don't think it would be retrieved.
I saw that as an error which was borne out of my excitement and it's not like my mind wanted to send it to someone - that's a different one which I don't mind being generous with. Maybe, eventually, if the number exists and perhaps the owner couldn't charge the phone which I don't want to start thinking about, the money is gone and I wouldn't even bother calling whoever may feel it's a blessing from God 😃
This experience highlight a lesson about awareness, care in moments of excitement, and the understanding that what we sometimes wish for (like an accidental transfer of money) is not always an actual blessing. Rather, it’s a reminder to be mindful and responsible and to distinguish between luck, miracles, and the genuine good that God might bring into our lives.
Thanks for your time reading. Looking forward to your interaction.
