I had zero interactions with the Cosmos ecosystem before 17th of November 2023, but everything changed! Somehow... I was eligible for the $TIA genesis drop! Checked the page out of curiosity, and I was surprised that I was eligible for this one... considering I never interacted with Cosmos, ATOM and all the other things.
Went deeper with the check, and I discovered that my eligibility was due to being an Early Adopter of Ethereum Rollups. The top 50% active users of the top 10 rollups by TVL on L2s where snapshotted on Ethereum block 16308181. Another criteria was to have a minimum balance of $50, which was a bit random. To be honest... 90% of the airdrops are random!
The eligibility was determined across three levels of activity score, with eligibility on-chain activity and weighing outlined in the Genesis docs. Not only I was eligible as an early adopter, but I was on a higher tier as well. My on-chain activity and presence on rollups ranked me on the top 20% users.
This was my leap of faith! I went to the next step and installed Keplr wallet, patiently waiting for the estimated minimum allocation of 71 $TIA to be distributed. It was even better, as I received 229 tokens, valued on the day at 1,175 USD.
I was a bit lucky I checked late, as the price per token surged from two... to over five dollars in a week! Though choice now ... to sell or HODL? The quick decision was to split it, so I sold some and staked 100 tokens. Used Kucoin to swap 128 TIA at $5.14, cashing out $658 USDT!
The APR was far better than 10% in the early days, but even this rate is good for such a gem! I used the rewards to top up the staked amount, but also to chase other opportunities like the Milk or Stride airdrops! LFG!
Let me tell you I have no regrets! This airdrop was unexpected and without any effort... so this is just a bonus! Yes bro ... $TIA now doubled in value, reaching $10.40 in December, then surging even more! Who cares... it could been the opposite and go to $2 or less. Crypto is all about opportunities, and you are not in profit until you cash out!
However, this airdrop opened the floodgates for even more bounties! Got DYM as a TIA staker, then got SAGA, NYM and many more. New opportunities to chase and more airdrops to farm!
Mande Network announced that DYM stakers will receive $MAND tokens! Checked my eligibility and I was told that I will receive at least 9.68 $MAND on genesis. The roll-up on Dymension was launched and I received a higher allocation. Staked 13.13 $MAND and decided to leave them there until further notice.

Meanwhile my total value of my staked $MAND went down by 65% in only a week. My airdrop is now worth one dollar and fifty cents!
The NIM Network Genesis Rolldrop got even better, as the final calculations and allocations were updated. In total, over 450,000 people have claimed 73M $NIM. Simple stuff... as 17,000,000 unclaimed tokens have been equally distributed among the claimers.
On average, those eligible could see a 20% increase in their allocation... capped at 20,000 NIM. A classy touch added by the team, and a nice boost for my final allocation. I received 399 $NIM and staked them right away!

It was Celestia who played an instrumental role in the birth of the modular ecosystem and the users who staked at least one TIA in Celestia as of December 19, 2023 qualified for a share of 20,000,000 DYM tokens.
I was one of those users and got on the list! The TIA stakers were fortunate to get a bigger slice of the airdrop, and my estimate share was 205 $DYM tokens. My layer2 activity added an estimated 25.75 tokens on top of the 205 for staking $TIA, and when the tokens were sent I was buzzing!
So it begins... so it begins! I've received 294.25 $DYM and their value started to grow! Boom! HODL mode for DYM! Staked most on my main wallet, but also funded my secondary one for airdrop farming! So far it worked well as I received NYM on both!
Received 1050 $SAGA when they gone live, and probably this is the one I regret a bit. I didn't act fast enough to split the drop in half, and ensure some profits. It was over $7000 on drop day and before the massive dump.
More rewards are coming for $SAGA stakers, but is that really worth it when the token price is now $1.50? All I can do is wait, farm and earn! I used some of the $SAGA rewards to farm $STRIDE, hoping that this will be a top drop.
What's next? The $SOAR airdrop was confirmed, with ATOM, TIA and AKT stakers on the eligibility list. All $milkTIA holders also made the cut, and the SOAR Mainnet is "around the corner"! The airdrop will be sent into eligible wallets, so no pressure!
