In as much as I would love to leave this country someday, the fact that i love my country to an extent is something i will never be able to deny, and that is mainly because of how tough spirited we are over here. One of the perks of being an African is the fact that the majority of every parents here are quite strict, the only title that will best describe every parent of this country is Disciplinarian...
When it comes to disciplining a child, African parents are well known to be quite strict and disciplined, especially when it involves the lifestyle and overall wellbeing of their children. I have been in this country for a couple of decades, and within these years I have witnessed a lot, especially when it comes strict discipline…
A lot of things would have gone wrong if children were given the right to sue their parents whenever they need to. A big shoutout to every parent out there, I’m not talking about the bad parents out there, i am talking about those who truly have the best interests of their children at heart. The main reason why many of us turn out well now is mainly because of the strict upbringing we had as a child. If only our parents neglected us and never disciplined us when we needed to be disciplined, we won’t be where we are today. In-fact the world would have been filled with hooligans and touts…
I know some parents can be very strict when disciplining their children sometimes, we can’t totally blame them for that, most parents do that because that is what some kids need to brought up properly. We have different types of kids out there, we have those that only listen to the corrections of punishment, we have those that only listen to the corrections of canes, there are some that only listen to both cane and punishment treatment, if they don’t get intense discipline they will become violent and wayward, i know some parents too do 😂 but then it’s all for our own good…
There are some that don’t even need to punished or caned, just sit them down and explain what they did wrong to them and make them see reasons why it’s bad, and they will learn. Every good children out there are a product of strict discipline…
Kids will always be kids, most times they don’t understand the reason why their parents are always very strict with them, everything they do is mainly for their well being. I was once like this, I went through a lot in the hands of my parents while growing up, my mum and dad weren’t only disciplined, they were very strict. It got to a point where I started thinking I wasn’t their biological child, I started seeing myself as an adopted child mainly because they were too strict…
Now see what I’ve become because of those intense training, i am who i am today because of those strict training. I didn’t know this then but now I know better, and will forever be grateful to them for everything…
Moving on, the world would be disastrous if children were given the right to sue their parents for anything they feel is unfair and cruel. The fact us that they might feel what they are doing now is right and just, until in the future where they see the result of their actions, hopefully it wouldn’t be too late. They do this because they want what’s best for us. The earlier we understand this the better it is for us...
A child that refuses to be trained in the right way is likely to perish if care isn’t taken. If my childhood had this right allocated to every single child back then, i am 100 percent sure I wouldn’t have ended up this way. I would have been more violent and less restrained…
In summary, even with the fact that this right wasn’t given to children back then, many children still end up becoming a disappointment to their parents and family, now imagine what would have become of them if they had the right to sue their parents for anything they feel is unjust and unfair…
In conclusion, my childhood would have never being something to write home about if that privilege was made available to me, and that is because i will always want to exercise those rights whenever i feel I’m being treated unfairly, even if all they are doing is for my benefit…
