Honestly, i almost skipped this particular topic because of my friends and a couple of other reasons. I am sure a couple of my friends on hive who are a big lover of ANIMES will come for my head after reading this post of mine 😂, justfavour, deraa and a couple of others will maybe come for my head after i’m done writing, let me poke them while i have the chance now hehehe…
I grew up watching mature movies and series all my life, i was never the Barbie and Cinderella type of kid, I won’t deny the fact that i saw a couple of these Barbie series and Cinderella movies along the way, the fact is that i only saw them because of the beautiful songs sang in them not really because i enjoy watching them. I have been the kdrama and bollywood type of kid all my life, I guess that is why they are the only genres of movie i love…
I started watching cartoons while I was growing up, well, it wasn’t just any cartoon, it was more of the mature type of cartoons, cartoons like TMNT(teenage mutant ninja turtles), Sofia the first, Dora the explorer and Mickey mouse club house, these are the cartoons i watched while growing up. I never really knew much about anime as a child, since i never had friends who were a lover nor did i have neighbors who loved seeing them, this was how everything was until i finally found someone who was an addict; KELVIN, kelvin was the first person to tell me about anime, and the first anime i ever heard of and watched a bit was NARUTO…
I never saw Naruto with my whole heart, i have only sat to watch it for few minutes and probably a couple of hours, I don’t think i have ever spent a week watching it nor have i ever used my money to buy it to watch…
I never knew anime as a kid and even when I eventually found out about it and started watching bit by bit, i neither loved it nor did I enjoy it, and if i were to choose between anime and cartoons, I would be choosing cartoons without thinking twice and that is because I prefer it more to anime…
I watched nickelodeon and disney junior for years, my favorite cartoon on nickelodeon were tmnt and alvin and the chipmunks and on disney junior, sofia the first, pj mask, and dora the explorer were my favorite. It was later I discovered how interesting SpongeBob was, and that was how SpongeBob entered my list of favorites…
Naruto was just too long that I ended up hating it lol, it was interesting to an extent but then it got boring after they kept on releasing more seasons and episodes, I guess that was one of the reasons why I never loved it so much…
The only thing i enjoy most about anime and has always picked my interest many times is the language, sound and slow motion, dang, i just love the fighting scenes in anime, they are quite fun to watch, the language and movement are just top notch…
I would say anime are meant for kids, but after understanding it a little better, I realized anime are advanced cartoons with improved graphics, visuals and animation, and regardless of its advancements, I would still choose cartoons over it over and over again…
In summary, i don’t really know much about the origin of anime, probably because i never really liked it, i only know few things here and there, and for cartoons, i just know they are cartoons and nothing more, but when it comes to other aspects of movies, especially kdramas and bollywoods, i am the right person to come consult…
In conclusion, if i were to choose between kdramas, anime and cartoons, my choice of all time would be kdrama, no doubt about that fact. I prefer emotional drama to anime and cartoons, they are the real deal…
