These questions have been ringing in head long before it came out this week as a topic to discuss. If you were to ask my this particular question many years ago, i mean like 10-15 years ago, I would have given you a common answer, something like ”my purpose in life is to make money and to live a comfortable life for the rest of my life, with good health and happiness attached to it”, this would have been my answer to the question, but then i am not a child, which means by now i will be having a different answer to a question like this…
This question looks very simple and easy to answer, but then the more I think about it the harder it gets to give a straightforward answer, and for this reason I find it difficult to answer. To give an answer to this question I will be needing some time, and that is because this question has a million answers…
I had a friend-like sister come over my place some months ago, this sister of mine had newly given her life to Christ and because of her devotion to the work of God, she seems to have found her purpose in life. She came to my place one day and asked me straight up;

I think our purpose in life differs, we are in this life to achieve different things and impact different lives, your purpose in life is very much different from my purpose in life, and achieving that purpose will take different paths and opportunities…
To many people out there including myself, i think making enough money to live a good and comfortable life throughout our lifetime is our lives purpose, the question right now is that are you sure that is your main purpose in life?, is making money and living a comfortable life just your only purpose. For me it’s a big no, my purpose in life is not just to make enough money to live a comfortable life, but then this particular thing is part of my purpose in life, I mean who doesn’t want to be rich to live a comfortable lifestyle, everyone does…
Thinking deep about this topic, i have come to the realization that this particular answer is just one of my purposes, which makes this a primary purpose, there is something else out there that is my major purpose in life, do I know it?, maybe or maybe not, but then i know making enough money to live a comfortable lifestyle forever is part of my life’s purpose…
Over the years, i have seen a couple of people who have actually realized their purpose in life, i have some friends who have found out making other people happy is their sole purpose in life, there are some who believe extending arms of help and love to others is their purpose in life, personal happiness is also some people’s purpose in life. Do i know my purpose in life?, that is a big question mark right now…
Deep down i know my purpose in life, but then the question lingering in my head, which also happens to make this whole situation quite difficult is ”if that is actually my main purpose or part of my purpose in life”, I guess I still need to find that out…
In summary, I don’t think this question has anything to do with human construct, there is more to this than we all see, I think the reason why many people out there don’t know their purpose in life is either due to ignorance or because they haven’t actualized themselves yet…
In conclusion, this is actually a big debate that can go on and on for hours, I think the best way to know your purpose in life is by self-actualization…
