AI (Artificial Intelligence) : Is current trend is FOMO ?
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is gaining traction for the quite some time and it look like every industry is wanting to jump in bandwagon of the AI, some are setting up labs for AI research, some are looking to integrate or already integrated AI in tools. It look like that whole CEO/CXO suite of the company has focus on implementing AI in the product and this sometime look little funny to me as whole focus is in implementing AI instead of focusing on betterment or offering of services that can be enhanced by using AI.
Whole narrative is to show the use of AI in product instead of focusing in using AI to create better products. It might look little harsh comparison but majority of thought process is looking similar to Tea company pivoting to Blockchain business during 2017 Bitcoin bull run and interestingly it shared skyrocketed to 500% by just doing announcement.
There are lot of celebrity comments and concerns on the use of AI and look like world is in dilemma for AI whether it is strength or threat for us in coming days. It is good to assign the mundane and repetitive task to AI like chatbots that can provide relevant information from the database. In various field it can be used as helping hand for classifying things, writing summaries and diagnosing the problem which can be verified by human and it can increase efficiency. Let say patient reports and symptoms are summarized by AI and AI based on information provide the diagnosis which doctor can verify. In this case I see that doctor productivity is increased multifold. But in other hand AI correctness is based on the correctness, unbias and availability of the data. If these conditions are not met will AI will be ever able to come to correct diagnosis.
Can AI replace every human work ?
First and foremost threat that people are talking of the AI is about losing the job to AI and in extreme level to the existence of the human race itself.
I guess it is still early to comment on the extreme fears but jobs that require human discretion and regulatory compliance will be discharged by human like Judge or drafting regulatory frameworks etc.
Also will AI going to cheer like us human in coming future?
AI is getting matured but are we?
I think with each passing day AI is getting matured and it does not matter what AI platform do we use, there responses will be almost more then 70% same. But in other hand we are still need to do lot of work to to ensure responsible and ethical use of AI, uniform policies to govern AI usage and ensuring that it is not going to threat to us in coming future.
