Following the weather advisory saved my day.
I generally do not prefer to go out of the house and only move out of the house when it is absolutely necessary. So I generally do not keep track of the weather. Also weather in my town is not very harsh and predictable so it do not require to lookout for the weather advisory as such. Today is an exception as we are experiencing winter that causes heavy fog, bring temperature further down at overall visibility become very poor or almost 0.
Since I have to travel today in early morning hour so I decided to check the weather report yesterdays and I found that the Indian Meteorological department has issue the "Orange Alert" due to the "fog"
I am extremely happy that I checked the weather report yesterday as visibility in the today morning was very low and the temperature was also low as predicted by the weather department, I decided to start little early in the morning so that I can reach on the time. Also I packed myself with layers of the warm clothes so that I do not catch cold while travelling in the extremely cold weather.
It is not only important to check weather advisory but it is also very important to take precautions. I drive very slowly today and it took me almost 40 minutes to reach my destination that I normally cover in 15 minutes. If it is not extremely important to travel today I will definitely like to stay at the home. In the end, I am happy that I reached my destination safe and sound and also do not witness any kind of mishap in the road due to the zero visibility.
One thing I missed is the reflective jacket or light color jacket in my wardrobe and I am definitely going to buy one for preparation for the future foggy days.
Wish you all to remain safe and practice road safety as winter brings heavy snowfall/black ice in many parts of world that makes driving very unsafe and sometime cause commuters stranded.
