🦉 The common sandpiper (Actitis hypoleucos)

This short-legged sandpiper appears on the outskirts of my city around the beginning of May. And in the neighboring steppe region I met them at the end of April.
They are very easy to spot by their “giggling” squeaky voice, which the bird makes when flying low over the water.
In summer they are less active, I mean more silent, and you can mainly hear alarm signals. They fly back unnoticed, so I can’t say when this happens, probably in mid-August.
