These birds are real travelers, or to be more precise, nomads. They constantly move through the forests, from one place to another. Birds usually have a winter migration to warmer climates, and in the spring they return back to their usual nesting sites. And siskins even have a summer migration, when the first brood of nestlings has been raised, they move to a new place where they build a nest again and have a second offspring. And their children, at the age of one month, also begin to nomad.
Siskins are mostly herbivorous, feeding on plant seeds, sprouts, and sometimes small insects that they feed to children. Regarding seeds, they prefer conifers, which indicates that siskins prefer to live mostly in coniferous forests.
