🦉 The Eurasian nuthatch or wood nuthatch (Sitta europaea)

  • Sitta sittē (Greek) mentioned by Aristotle and other ancient Greek. by the authors of the bird, something similar to the woodpecker
  • europaea (lat.) European

There is very little time left and it will be possible to observe these birds in the forests. Yes, they are sedentary, live all year round, but with the onset of autumn they fly from the forests closer to people.
In winter, they can be found at feeders in city yards. And there are also places, at least in my city, where these birds are tame.

While walking along the paths in the park, these birds can easily sit on your head or shoulder and beg for a treat. And the funny thing is that when they receive a tasty treat, they immediately begin to hide it, right in their jacket, pockets or hat.
