🦉 The European goldfinch or simply the goldfinch (Carduelis carduelis)
- Carduelis carduus (Latin) thistle

Unfortunately, I don't often come across these birds, and I'm especially rarely able to photograph them. Most often I meet them in early spring and mid-summer. The birds are sedentary, wintering, and it's very strange that they appear in the courtyards of my city in mid-March, every year. And when the snow melts, they can be seen and heard in the forests. They have wonderful funny songs consisting of some trills, whistles, and other chaotic sounds.

And in the summer, when their children have already grown up, they raid the floors where their favorite food grows - thistle. They sit on the plant and enjoy the seeds, calmly eating them.
