Hello everyone good afternoon....
On a bright and peaceful morning, I decided again to go for a walk in nature. The outdoors makes me happy. Well, on this beautiful morning I managed to find two very beautiful little caterpillars. They were like a couple on an excursion in the wild. Have you ever seen this caterpillar?
If you meet this caterpillar, don't rush to be afraid of it, it is very small and also very beautiful. You also need to know that this caterpillar is not just any caterpillar, it is a candidate for a beautiful butterfly called Acraea terpsicore. The tiny butterflies that we often encounter are brownish orange with characteristic black spots. Basically, this caterpillar is a little scary because its whole body is covered with sharp spines.
This caterpillar is shiny black and brownish orange, along its back there is a white dotted line. Its body is small with dense flesh, plus sharp spines so that the appearance of this caterpillar looks a little scary. But don't worry, these sharp thorns are not meant to attack us, they are for self-protection from predators. That applies if we don't bother them. If they feel threatened by our presence, then they will react.
These caterpillars are often found on wild plants whose leaves are still fresh and where they feel safe to grow until they are ready to metamorphose. Metamorphosis is an extraordinary miracle, like this caterpillar that I met, it looks scary, which will turn into a beautiful butterfly that is admired by many people.
