First Credit Card Renewed 💳

in #hive-1466209 days ago

Hello and Namaste Everyone

There was a time when I was completely against the use of credit cards. I used to think that credit cards were a trap of liability and I didn't want to be part of it. I was wrong till the time I started using credit cards. Now I'm happy to share that my first-ever credit card has been renewed and this renewal happens once in three years. So my credit card journey has completed three years which is a good achievement for me. It took time for me to understand some best use cases for credit cards and I'm happy that I learned the lesson at the right time. Sometimes our thought process can be wrong but we don't think that way because we think that what we think is right but in reality it is not right.

The same thought process I also had about the credit card but I was wrong and I am glad that I corrected my mistake at the right time. Now with credit cards, I learned a better way to use the money and I am not the person who uses credit cards excessively. I mean to say I use credit cards only for the expenses that I anyways need to make. It's not free money for me and I use it for all my costs wherever possible.

My card will be expiring by the end of this month and the bank is so proactive that they delivered the card even before the expiry. I like the way this bank works and I never had any issue with them in terms of their services. Even I have another card from the same bank which is for UPI payment and it is a complete digital card. I do not have the physical card for that and I can use it online only but not in-store if QR is not there. I can make the payment in the shop also using that digital card but it is applicable only in the case of UPI QR. I cannot swap the card in the POS machine because it is not a physical card. The one which is renewed is a physical card and this is the first renewal after three years.

There are certain instructions that I need to follow and I must activate this card within thirty days else this card will be closed according to the RBI guidelines. I anyways use the card so I'll make sure that I activate the card and follow these instructions. There was no such process when I got my first card three years back but now things are strengthened in terms of security. I think it is good because this way at least bank is following some best practices to avoid fraudulent use cases. Some so many scammers try to get access to credit or debit cards and this way the misuse can be controlled.

Now I have many credit cards with me and I am not planning to get another for now because whatever cards I have are good enough for me. Recently I got a new card from Yes Bank but I did not get the opportunity to use that and it is because I am more comfortable paying through UPI and I am also more comfortable with an HDFC card so I need some time to get familiar with a new one.

It's too early to say whether I'll be using the new card or not but if I don't get the opportunity to use the new card in the next six months or so then I think that would be the right decision to close the card and keep the ones that I use frequently. It is also important to choose the right card and I'm happy with the reward mechanism that I get with HDFC bank but not sure of Yes Bank because that is a new card and I still need to explore it in detail. So again I'm happy that I got my first card renewed and now it will work for another 3 years.

Thank you so much
Stay Safe

I see you've started to upvote your own posts again.

I just post once in a day and my self vote is also not so big but you suggest not to do this, I will not do it. Your advice is well noted and will be followed.

Btw I see a lot of people with bigger vote value doing self voting and their rewards are also higher but I don't see any negative votes there.

Have a Good day @galenkp

I'm not suggesting that you can't self vote, just that I see it as selfish when that small vote could really inspired another user should you cast it on their post. Anyway, you do what you would like to do, it's ok, but remember that others will do the same, upvote or downvote as they like.

I agree that this small vote can also make some users happy and motivate them. I like your approach and am glad to follow you on this. I am a person who tries my best to learn and improve and I will do it for sure. You will never see self-voting from me ever

I want to say you a big thanks for making me realize this. You're a respected creator on Chain, and your comment alone is good enough to make people realize their mistakes without DV.
Isn't good if you inform the person first before taking action so that the other person gets a chance to improve first. I just shared what I felt like. if in case you like it.
