Bangladesh's rural areas are green all year round. Everywhere you go and look, you will see beautiful greenery, crop fields, and trees, even in the urban areas. With the laid-back lifestyle, there's no rush, people have time to chat, and the environment is much more calm and more peaceful.
These are the things I miss the most. Fortunately, I had the opportunity to visit a nearby village a few days ago.
Let me share the experience.
One of my aunts was heading to her village to get updates on her crop products for this year and I joined her.
When we reached thee, my eyes were covered in beautiful greenery. From rice paddy fields to wheat, from potatoes to opinion, there were every kind of winter vegetables as well.
My aunt talked with a few farmers who cultivated her land for her and I was walking around the field.
This is a riverside area so the land is a lot more sandy than usual, making it perfect to grow pumpkins, and onions at this time.
It took her only a few minutes to be done. Well, it could be done over the phone but probably she tries to make an impact through her presence. Also, it's always better to watch what's going on rather than only take information and money, right?
I was hoping the visit would be longer so we could have a refreshing afternoon but as it was done early there was nothing to do. She doesn't have a home there but in the city. So we headed back.
We had some local food called Chatpati at the market area, it was too spicy but enjoyed the rural touch in the taste.
This is the life, nothing fancy, looks very ordinary and poor, with no urban facilities but has a charm. The people, their hospitality, the freshness of the environment, the beautiful green sights that make it perfect.
Our rural and urban life is the opposite side of the coin. So you can guess how it might feel to walk around in the rural sights, it feels a lot different there. And that's what I love.
