Shalwar kameez is our daily female wear. Shalwar is the trouser part and the Kameez is the top/upper part of the wear. We usually add a Dupatta, the additional scarf to cover ourselves. There are countless designs, cuts, colors, and fashion this wear has!
I usually wear simple ones, with no over-the-top designs or color combinations. But what I love adding is different types of laces to my wear. It brings such an elegant look, with low effort and a cute fashion to the wear.
Recently, I have added some laces to one of my new purchase. Let me show you.
This is a straight-cut Kameez and Dupatta that I have purchased for only $4. I already have a purple Salwar/trousers that will go with this wear.
I bought these laces for another $5. I was not sure where to put them though I had some ideas in my mind.
After setting the lace in the lower part of the Kameez, it looked good to me.
I was thinking about adding this lace to the four sides of my Dupatta but it turned out, that this single one would not cover all the sides!
Then I decided to cut up the lace like this and make three parts out of the single lace. Thankfully, the measurement showed that it will cover all four sides of the dupatta and I could add some at the neck area of my Kameez.
Now it's time to sew!
I don't own any sewing machine as I never tailor my clothes and this type of DIY doesn't happen often. But I have my thread and needle.
It took some time to sew the flowery laces without any frames, with only hands. But the time was worth it.
This is the final look.
I placed one flower each in the hand portion also. And some at the neck area. Doesn't it look cute?
This is the Dupatta. You can see how I placed the laces on every side of the cloth.
And finally, my work was done. It took me almost three days/3-4 hours to finish the work. The wear turned out good and the flowery laces were giving such a vibe; loved it.
Tell me what do you think? Did you ever do such a DIY?
