A Crypto project having an influential figure can make it receive more audience since people who follow that figure end up going to that project because of their participation or support. In crypto we have examples of this with the largest blockchain networks: Ethereum is known for having Vitalik; the Tron network for Justin; Binance had CZ as a figure. This happens in most cases. However, it is a double-edged sword. While it is beneficial, it can also be a great risk since something that happens to the figure can negatively impact the project as well, because users, when they lose trust in the influential figure, also lose trust in the project. Thus, the same person who brings the audience to the projects can also be responsible for removing it. A recent example of this was what happened to the CEO of Telegram.
Telegram (TON) Case
Recently there was the case of the creator of Telegram, Pavel Durov, who was arrested in France and this caused great speculation about what would happen to the Telegram Project itself, since he is the CEO and what would happen to the TON network that uses some Telegram features such as the recent Tap-To-Earn games, what could happen to the ecosystem. This speculation about what might happen in the FUTURE makes the crypto market, which are the people who participate in the project, feel fear of the unknown and sell their assets linked to the project, all because of an influential figure.
It is worth remembering that, just like what happens in well-structured companies, if the project has a solid foundation, it works without the need for a figure behind it, as is the case with Bitcoin.
Bitcoin and Decentralization
These situations in which an influential figure ends up centralizing users' attention and ending up becoming almost as relevant as the project itself, it shows the importance of Crypto projects focusing on creating processes and generating a solid foundation that is independent of specific people, but that works in a decentralized way, without a key figure.
A great example of this are the blockchain networks that started without this figure since their creation, the biggest example being Bitcoin, in which even though it had a creator, Satoshi Nakamoto, he never interfered in the blockchain, keeping his wallet free of movements and without seeking public attention, since to this day the mystery of who it would be remains. This made the Bitcoin project something much bigger than its creator and independent of him, which is why it is considered by many to be in a different category from other cryptocurrencies and this is reflected in its price, which is very detached from the others.

Essa especulação do que pode acontecer, FUTURO, faz com que o mercado crypto, que são as pessoas que participam do projeto sintam medo do desconhecido e vendam seus ativos ligados ao projetos, tudo por conta de um figura influente.
Vale lembrar que igual ao que ocorre em empresas bem estruturadas, o projeto se tiver uma base sólida funciona sem a necessidade de ter uma figura por traz como é o caso do Bitcoin.
Bitcoin e Descentralização
Essas situações em que uma figura influente acaba centralizando a atenção dos usuários e acaba chegando ao ponto de se tornar quase tão relevante do que o próprio projeto mostra a importância de que os projetos de Crypto foquem em criar processos e gerar uma base sólida que seja independente de pessoas específicas, mas que funcionem de forma descentralizada, sem uma figura chave.
Um grande exemplo disso são as redes blockchain que começaram sem esse figura desde a sua criação, sendo o maior exemplo o Bitcoin, em que mesmo tendo um criador, Satoshi Nakamoto, ele nunca interferiu na blockchain, mantendo a sua carteira livre de movimentações e sem buscar a atenção do público já que até hoje permanece o mistério de quem seria. Isso fez com que o projeto do Bitcoin fosse algo muito maior do que o seu criador e independente dele, por isso ele é considerado por muitos em uma categoria diferente das outras cryptomoedas e isso reflete em seu preço muito descolado das demais.
