The young woman approached the river where a stone glittered among the others in the water bed.
She reached out her hand and took it, placing it around her neck. Suddenly she heard a voice asking her what she was doing.
She looked around without seeing anyone, hearing again the voice asking to be returned to the shore.
She realised that it was the stone that was speaking, so she carefully pulled it back among the rocks.
She asked who it was and the prince turned to stone by the witch told her his story, begging her to take him back to his kingdom before midnight.
The young girl agreed to help him and they set out on their journey.
After crossing mountains, forests and rivers, they arrived in time at the prince's country.
The prince asked to be taken to the palace to regain his form at the touch of the throne.
The witch mocked him for not being able to take over the kingdom. When she tried to stop the young woman from leaving the prince, he jumped out of her hands and regained his body.
In gratitude, the prince married the girl and she became the princess of the place.
