Super Sneak | Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge!

Hello, fellow Splinterlands warriors! Have you ever experienced a heart-pounding battle in Splinterlands? This card game has a unique way of keeping us engaged, especially when we dive into a match with challenging rulesets. Today, I want to share an exhilarating experience from one of my most intense battles. Imagine this: a match combining the Super Sneak and Heavy Hitter rulesets—two conditions that, when combined, really make you think hard to find the best strategy. Let’s dive in!

The Card Battle

When I saw the Super Sneak and Heavy Hitter rules, I knew this was going to be an exciting battle. Super Sneak ensures that all melee attack monsters target the enemy’s backline, while Heavy Hitter offers a chance to deal double damage to stunned opponents. With these rules in play, I had to carefully select a team that could effectively counter my opponent.

Team Composition

After some thought, I chose LOB LOWLAND as my summoner. With the added abilities it brings, I felt my team would be more solid against the enemy's attacks. My reason was simple: LOB LOWLAND’s ability is perfect for a Super Sneak ruleset as it allows me to bring in QUORA TOWERSHEAD, whose magic attacks can be deadly, especially when all monsters have the Sneak ability and target the backline.

I meticulously assembled my team:

PELACOR MERCENARY lv 6, with Flying and Heal. I placed it in the front position because of its high durability and self-healing ability.

DISINTEGRATOR lv 3, with Demoralize. This monster is crucial as it reduces the enemy’s melee attack power, giving my team an edge in close combat.

QUORA TOWERSHEAD lv. 2, with Bloodlust and Heal. This monster can become incredibly dangerous if its Bloodlust is activated.

URAEUS lv. 2, with Poison and Sneak. With the Super Sneak ruleset, I leveraged its Sneak ability to wreak havoc on the enemy’s backline.

MYCELIC MORPHOID lv. 3, with Thorns. I positioned it in the back to counter the enemy’s backline attacks.

MYCELIC INFANTRY lv. 3, with Shield. This was my last line of defense, strong enough to withstand the enemy's melee attacks.

As the match began, my opponent selected TARSA as their summoner. It was clear that this opponent knew what they were doing. Their team consisted of GARGOYA LION, GRUM FLAMEBLADE, IIDRI FYRE, DISINTEGRATOR, DUMACKE ORC, and SCAVO HIRELING. A formidable combination, especially with the dangerous GRUM FLAMEBLADE, whose Bloodlust could turn the tide.

Round 1: The Beginning

In the first round, the effects of both my and my opponent’s Disintegrators were immediately felt. Both teams' melee attack power was significantly reduced. Mycelic Infantry, positioned at the back of my team, became the main line of defense, absorbing the Sneak attacks from the enemy's monsters. IIDRI FYRE from the opponent’s team became the primary target of my attacks due to its Taunt effect, drawing all focus toward it.

Round 2: Counterattack

IIDRI FYRE was finally taken down by Mycelic Morphoid, providing a huge relief as its Taunt was no longer redirecting my monsters' attacks. I was pleased with how things were going since my team remained intact.

Round 3: The Turning Point

In the third round, Quora Towershead showed its true potential. After defeating Dumacke Orc, its Bloodlust activated, boosting its power. However, the opponent’s Grum Flameblade was not to be outdone, activating its own Bloodlust after taking down one of my monsters. The front-line duel between Pelacor Mercenary and Gargoya Lion was intense, with both sides fiercely battling and holding their ground.

Round 4: Deadly Strikes

This round saw Quora Towershead’s continued dominance as it eliminated the opponent’s Disintegrator, activating Bloodlust once again. Uraeus, with its Sneak ability, successfully poisoned Grum Flameblade, making the situation even more thrilling.

Round 5: Tense Moments

Grum Flameblade once again proved to be a threat by eliminating Uraeus, activating Bloodlust once more. However, Uraeus’ poison began to chip away at Grum’s strength. It was a nerve-wracking moment, knowing that this was the critical point that would determine the match's outcome.

Round 6: Victory in Sight

The sixth round was decisive. Quora Towershead, now extremely powerful thanks to multiple Bloodlust activations, eliminated the opponent’s last monster. The poison that Uraeus had inflicted earlier left Grum Flameblade powerless by the end, and victory was finally mine. It was immensely satisfying to see my carefully planned strategy pay off, especially as Quora Towershead became an unstoppable force in the final rounds.

Conclusion

This battle taught me the importance of selecting a balanced team that can adapt to various conditions. Rulesets like Super Sneak and Heavy Hitter can be challenging, but with the right strategy, these challenges can be turned into victories. Patience and careful calculation are essential in a game like Splinterlands. And most importantly, never underestimate the power of monsters with ongoing effects like Poison or Bloodlust—they can be the key to victory in crucial moments.
