My Favorite Strategy in Stampede and Unprotected Rulesets And Amazing Battles | Splinterlands Social Media Challenge

Hello everyone, Welcome to my Splinterlands Social Media Challenge post. In this post, I will talk about my favorite strategy in battles with Stampede and Unprotected rulesets, and more, as well as an amazing battle. I hope it will be useful for you.

Stampede & Unprotected Rulesets

When Armored Units are hit with Melee or Ranged Attacks, only their armor is damaged, meaning they do not take damage to their health, in other words, , no matter how powerful the Melee and Ranged Attacks are, they must first destroy their target's armor before damaging their health. In short, Armor is really useful against Melee and Ranged Attacks. For example, even if a Unit with only 1 Armor is hit by 2 or more Melee Attacks, only its Armor will be destroyed and its Health will not be damaged at all. Unarmored Units' health becomes an obvious target and they can be much easier to destroy, which is why I put a big emphasis on armoring my team against Melee and Ranged attacks in battles. Meanwhile, since Magic Attacks hit their targets' health directly, Armor is useless against them.

In battles with the Unprotected ruleset, all units have 0 armor and cannot gain armor from Summoners or Abilities, so the health of all units is unprotected and an obvious target. In battles with the Unprotected ruleset I usually prefer Units with Melee Attacks, especially those with the Trample Ability because they can be very effective. When Units with Trample Ability hit and kill their target with a Melee attack, it will perform another Melee attack on the next Unit on the enemy team. And Trample Ability is incredibly useful when used in Stampede ruleset and turns the battle into a nightmare for the enemies because the Stampede ruleset allows Trample to retrigger infinitely as long as the trampling unit keeps defeating other units.

Summoner Possibilus the Wise grants Trample Ability, Reach Ability, and +2 Health to all friendly Units. Since adding Possibilus the Wise to my deck, Stampede and Unprotected rulesets have become my favorite rulesets and I can say that I have won the vast majority of battles with these two rulesets. And when I can determine a good strategy in these rulesets, the battle is incredibly short no matter how high the mana cost of the battle.

Let's examine two battles that I think will be good examples of what I said above.

BATTLE 1

Battle Ruleset

  • Stampede: Trample (after using a melee attack to defeat a unit, performs another melee attack against the unit in the next position) can trigger multiple times if the trampled unit is destroyed.
  • Unprotected: All units have 0 armor and cannot gain armor from summoners or abilities.
  • Even Stevens: You can only summon units with even mana costs.

Since the battle has Stampede and Unprotected rulesets, I chose Possibilus the Wise as the summoner without hesitation (I explained why above, please see above). My other favorite thing about Summoner Possibilus the Wise is that it also gives Reach Ability to all friendly Units, so all Units with Melee Attack can attack from the second position, and I would like to say that I usually prefer those with Double Strike Ability. Having more speed is always useful in these types of battles, so I also included the Swiftness Ability in my lineup. And I put the Taunt Ability in the last position and the enemies will attack to destroy it first, which will stall them and on the other hand Melee Attacks will hit enemies mercilessly, which is exactly what happened in this battle.

In the first round, the Melee attack monsters mercilessly hit the enemies, and almost didn't even let the enemies breathe and destroyed 3 enemies, the opponent team had a nightmare at the beginning of the first round.

The battle only lasted 2 rounds, which is exactly why it's my favorite strategy in this type of battle. Although I use different cards depending on the mana cost of the battle, I generally stick to a strategy similar to the one above. I put melee attack Units with high attack power in the first two positions, and I also add melee attack Units with Opportunity Ability to my team. I can say that especially those with Opportunity Ability can be much more effective.

BATTLE 2

Battle Ruleset

  • Stampede: Trample (after using a melee attack to defeat a unit, performs another melee attack against the unit in the next position) can trigger multiple times if the trampled unit is destroyed.
  • Unprotected: All units have 0 armor and cannot gain armor from summoners or abilities.

My strategy in this battle was almost the same as the first battle above, only because the mana cost was lower, I included the Tank Heal Ability in my lineup instead of the Swiftness Ability. Since the Units on the opposing team had higher speed, they were more effective in the beginning of the first round, but the result did not change, the only thing that changed was that a Unit from my team was destroyed.

This battle also only lasted 2 rounds, I can say that battles usually last this short when I can determine a good strategy.

As seen in both battles, I usually put the Enrage Ability in the first position, the Double Strike Ability in the second position, and I definitely include the Opportunity Ability (even more than one when I have the chance) in my lineup. Units with the Opportunity Ability can be much more effective in these types of battles because they target Unit with the lowest health. I've talked about my favorite strategy for battles with the Stampede and Unprotected rulesets, and as seen in the battles above, it works really well and helps me win most of these types of battles.

If you have any questions about abilities, rulesets, the battle above, and Splinterlands, please feel free to ask and I'll be happy to answer them.

If you haven't joined this fascinating world yet, I think you're missing out and I highly recommend you consider joining Splinterlands.
