Odd Ones Out Ruleset | Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge! Splinterlands

in #hive-133232 months ago

Hello everyone, I hope everything is going well in your life. Welcome to my Battle Mage Secrets post. In this post, I will talk about the Odd Ones Out Ruleset.

Odd Ones Out Ruleset

In battles with the Odd Ones Out Ruleset, only Units with odd mana costs may be used, but this rule does not apply to Summoners, meaning Summoners are not affected by this rule. Odd Ones Out is a simple ruleset that isn't complicated, but if you have powerful cards that cost odd mana in your deck, you'll be more likely to win battles with this ruleset. In my deck, there are a lot of odd-mana cost cards with Triage Ability, Taunt Ability, Sneak Ability and Rust Ability, so I can say that these are the abilities I use the most in battles with the Odd Ones Out ruleset. I especially use the Taunt and Triage abilities a lot from this ruleset. Especially in this ruleset, I use Taunt and Triage abilities more.

Battle Ruleset

  • Odd Ones Out: Only Monsters with odd Mana costs may be used in battles.
  • Wands Out: Only Monsters with Magic attack may be used in battles.
  • Counterspell: All Monsters have the Magic Reflect ability.

Magic Reflect Ability : When hit with Magic damage, does half the Magic damage (rounded up) back to the attacker.

MY STRATEGY & LINE UP

According to the rulesets of the battle, all Monsters in this battle will have the Magic Reflect Ability, and only Monsters with Magic attack with odd Mana costs may be used in the battle.

In this battle, especially since I want all monsters in my team to have Void Ability, I will choose Immortalis as the summoner and add monsters with 1 or 2 magic attacks to my team, this is because I do not want them to take back damage from Magic Reflect when they hit their targets. Additionally, since they will have the Void Ability, the effect of Blast damage will also be reduced.

Unfortunately, I don't have cards with Tank Heal or Heal Abilities suitable for this battle, which is a big shortcoming for my deck. However, this is not a big problem, I can overcome it with my strategy. I will put Mycelic Slipspawn with the Taunt Ability in the last position and include the Triage Ability in my lineup.

I would love to include the Amplify Ability in my lineup in such a battle, but unfortunately all the Monsters with this ability in my deck with even-mana costs.

  • Amplify Ability : Increases Magic Reflect, Return Fire, Thorns, Corrosive Ward, and Retaliate damage to all enemy units by 1.

The continuation of the strategy and my team's lineup is as follows;

LINE UP

Summoner : IMMORTALIS

Immortalis is an Earth Summoner that grants Void Ability and Shatter Ability to all friendly Monsters and reduces the health of all enemy Monsters by 1. I chose Immortalis as the summoner because I believe that having all the Monsters in my team with Void Ability in this battle could give my team a great advantage.

  • Void Ability : Reduced damage from Magic attacks by 50%.
  • Shatter Ability : Target's armor is destroyed when hit by an attack from Units with Shatter.

Position 1: REGAL PERYTON

In the first position, I put Regal Peryton with the Flying Ability.

  • Flying Ability : Has a 25% bonus chance of evading Melee or Ranged attacks from Units who do not have the Flying ability.

Position 2: SCAVO TECHNOMANCER

In the second position, I put Scavo Technomancer with Blast and Rust Abilities.

  • Blast Ability : Does half damage (rounded up) to Units adjacent to the target Unit.
  • Rust Ability : Reduces the Armor of all enemy Units by 2.

Position 3: RUNEMANCER FLORRE

In the third position, I put Runemancer Florre. Runemancer Florre can attack with both 2 magic attacks and 2 ranged attacks each round, so I added it to my team. Considering that the opposing team might have Monsters with Void Ability, I added it to my team, and thought that its ranged attacks could upset the opposing player's strategy. That's exactly why I put it in the third position, even though it has 13 health.

Position 4: SPIRIT HOARDER

In the fourth position, I put Spirit Hoarder with Triage and Dispel Abilities. The most important reason why I added Spirit Hoarder to my team was that it had the Triage Ability and thus could make Mycelic Slipspawn harder to destroy.

  • Triage Ability : Heals the friendly back-line Unit that has taken the most damage by a third of max health.
  • Dispel Ability : When this Unit hits an enemy, it clears all positive status effects on that enemy.

Position 5: DJINN BILJKA

In the fifth position, I put Djinn Biljka with Camouflage and Void Abilities. I added Djinn Biljka to my team because it costs 3 mana and has 2 magic attacks.

  • Camouflage Ability : This Unit cannot be directly targeted for attacks unless it's in the first position.
  • Void Ability : Reduced damage from Magic attacks by 50%.

Position 6: MYCELIC SLIPSPAWN

In the last position, I put Mycelic Slipspawn with Taunt and Forcefield Abilities. The most important reason why I added Mycelic Slipspawn to my team is that it has the Taunt Ability, and the enemies will first struggle to destroy it. In addition, Mycelic Slipspawn will have the Void Ability in this battle, and considering that I have the Triage Ability in my lineup, it will be incredibly difficult for the enemies to destroy it.

  • Taunt Ability : All enemy Units target this Unit (if they are able to).
  • Forcefield Ability : This Unit takes only 1 damage from attacks with power 5 or higher.

BATTLE COMMENTS

You can watch the entire battle from the video or from the Battle Link

I'm glad that the opposing team doesn't have Monsters with Void or Amplify abilities because it will make my team's job easier.

Round 1

The fact that all the monsters in my team had the Void Ability was a great advantage, and in the first round, while the monsters in the opposing team received serious damage, especially from Magic Reflect, the Monsters in my team were not affected by it at all. In the first round, while 3 monsters from the opposing team were destroyed, no monsters from my team could be destroyed.

Round 2

The opposing team's Monsters continued to suffer in the second round, and the opposing player's failure to take precautions against Magic Reflect caused the Monsters on the opposing team to be easily destroyed. And in 2 rounds, all the monsters on the opposing team were destroyed and my team managed to win the battle.

The battle lasted only 2 rounds, and at the end of the battle, all the monsters on the opposing team were destroyed, while all the monsters on my team were alive. The fact that all the monsters in my team had Void Ability and I included Taunt Ability and Triage Ability in my lineup worked very well and my team won this battle quite easily. The opponent player also had Taunt Ability and Triage Ability in their lineup, but I think the opponent player put them in the wrong positions, but since all the Monsters in my team had Void Ability, they had no chance of winning this battle.
