I rarely do that "late night snack" thing, most of the time I just ignore my hunger when I get hungry at night. Or if not, I will just take a cup of water and go back to sleep. I'd rather just wait in the morning to come and have my breakfast than eat late at night. I'm the type that can still sleep well even with a rumbling stomach. Am I the only one here?
But recently, because I take dinner as early as 5 pm, sometimes even 4:30, I really get hungry late at night and I have no other choice but to grab some food. There is that one time though, when I am so hungry that I wake up at 1 am and my stomach won't stop rumbling. And I feel like I had the biggest problem that time because I don't really stock up food.
I can get a biscuit at Mommy D's store, but they are asleep. And I don't want to disturb them. They'll have a hard time for sure, going back to sleep if I do that. Another thing is that I really hate to just get it for free. As a way to support my mom's business, we always pay for the food that we get in her store. Same with Mommy F, we never claim it as ours because it's Mommy D's store. We didn't spend anything to help with her business, so it's just right to pay for what we get. But I can't do that then, I hate to sneak up too. So I endured that painful night. ( ꈍᴗꈍ)
And so, that's when I decided to stock up some food so that if I ever get hungry, I will have something to eat. I've been stocking up bread in my little food jar. If not bread, then a biscuit. I don't eat noodles or rice at night. They are so heavy for my stomach. And I ate at night, then will immediately go to bed. I don't stay up that late after having a late-night snack because I might have a hard time sleeping.
But if I have a choice, though, I want to have pizza as a late-night snack or a burger or fries. But I had to heat them up, so I don't buy them, lol. Another thing is, I hate to spend a lot. I mean, if I can find cheap but delicious food, why would I get those? I'll do that, only if I really want to, or if I have a budget for it. I feel like I'm the only one here who planned on stocking up food for late-night snacks. I think most people nowadays just order it online, or not? How about you?
By the way, let me share the jar where I put my foods. They are an old and small jar, but they are really convenient. I put them beside my bed so that when I get hungry I don't need to go to the kitchen to eat my foods. My food is also safe in them because of their cover, any bugs or even an ant can't penetrate inside. That's the reason I chose this jar, actually.
This big jar is for a big kind of bread or biscuit, I can stock up on three to four star bread in there. I can even fit in an ensaymada, which is much bigger than that star bread. This jar was actually for our salt before, haha. Mommy D just decided to replace it with a smaller one, that's why this has been just rotting in our storage bag, lol.
As for this small jar, I can fit two star bread or muffins in there or a small biscuit. I like this more though because of its cover. And its small, I can even sleep with it, lol. But this was a jar for sugar before, I just asked Mama to give it to me because she's not using it anymore. So they are mine now, hehe.
Anyhow, if not star bread, then I'll have ensaymada as a late-night snack. I mean, whatever's available in my food jar, it could be muffins, star bread, tuna bread, binangkal, or a leftover pandesal. I don't eat a lot either, I only eat a small portion, and then I'll have more water then go back to sleep again.
It actually amaze me that some people eat a big portion of food at night. It will be harder to digest them all, so how y'all gonna sleep if you are so full? This is just what I'm wondering. But then, people is really good at sleeping late at night. They can just wake up late and that's it. It's sad I can't experience waking up late. It's not really good in this household. ( ꈍᴗꈍ)
