Mom informed me that we will attend a birthday celebration in Langgang. Actually, she asked me first if I wanted to go with them, she knows I just had a panic attack the other day because of my nose, but I'm okay now. So, I said yes, a birthday celebration means FREE FOOD! Lol. Who doesn't love free food, right? Haha. And it's 80th birthday of Mommy D's sister so this is really special to my oldies. And imagine reaching your 80th birthday, wahhhh, I'm curious if I too can reach that age. Not that I want to ƪ(˘⌣˘)ʃ i'm really just curious. I'm still firm in my decision to live until 50 \(^o^)/, lol.
So the celebration was on Saturday. It's not the big kind of celebration. It is actually with the closest one and some neighbors. There's a lot of kids too, I think there were 30+ in there. Not really sure. Even if there's 20, my shy self, who hates being surrounded by a lot of people, wanted to really hide in her shell. But because I don't really have a shell, my facemask and a cap were a big help. I'll wear sunglasses too if it's not too much. Haha, at least with that, I don't feel exposed to the world. Are you like that too?
Because the celebration was at 3 in the afternoon, we decided to go travel in there via tricycle at 11 am. We just hired a tricycle for me, for the oldies, and Mama was invited too. She happily joins us, she's also a food lover, you see. Especially if it's FREE. Hahaha. So why are we early? You may be wondering, so Mom said that it will look like we are just going in there to really eat if we go there exactly at 3. And they want to have a long bonding time with the celebrant, a long talk and greetings, so going in there earlier is what's the best thing to do.
We bought a Litsong Manok from our new neighbor that sells grilled meat from chicken to pork, and then we also have a cake and pizza. Of course, the celebrant is super important to the oldies, so bringing these things is just right. We're supposed to buy more pizza, but Mommy D said that there's a lot of food in there already, so we only bring enough. I'm sure the foods we bring are not that important, but I'm sure they are really grateful-and I know too that what made the celebrant happy was the presence of her loved ones who attended. With or without a gift. The celebrant cried after seeing the oldies. I like that Mommy F really takes her time talking to Auntie Ella.
We just encountered a little problem going in there because it's really been a long time since we last visited their house, we got lost. And their house is really not on the highway but in a remote area. Still, the good news is, we didn't have a hard time looking for it because, with the changes, there are still familiar sights that we recognize. And the hired driver and tricycle are actually from Bansud, so even he is not familiar with the place. Either way, in the end we arrived at our destination, and we got our happy time there. I mean, just the oldies. I can't fully enjoy this kind of celebration because of the crowd ( ꈍᴗꈍ). But I enjoy the foods \(^o^)/.
There's a lot of changes too on their place, but the changes I like the most were these bamboo trees in the middle of their lawn. The greener it is, the more peaceful it is. Just like what I want in my dream house. But I feel like a bamboo like this will just become a house of snakes, or maybe not?
So while waiting for the celebration to start, I decided to explore their place and have a walk in there. Mama decided to just sit and watch on her phone. Luckily, there is a signal. As for me, I enjoy the walk, as I love what I saw in there. It's all greens!
They have plants, flowers, trees, and there's orchids too. Everything that a nature lover can enjoy. If only they can give more care to their garden, surely it will give more comfort to their home.
Who loves ice cream in a coffee mug? Lol. Hihi. It is cheese and cookies and cream flavor. It's not the ice cream you can buy in a shop with their ready-made ice cream, it is homemade, and they bought it to someone maybe. Very different from the ice cream we can buy in a convenience store. I love it! This is just the start, though.
Next is Pancit Guisado with pork, kikiam, and squid balls. It's so yummy. But I didn't eat much of it because I prefer the other one that they are currently cooking that time, the saucy Filipino-style spaghetti! I just took a spoonful of pancit on Mama's plate, hihi.
So after the singing and greetings inside, I didn't join inside because I'm allergic to people, shhhhh. Eherm. Lol. So the foods -they have a lot of foods on the table, but I only took my favorites. They have a lot of kakanin too, from Puto, Maja made with corn, Pichi-Pichi, there's Pilipit, and Kutsinta too. But I only took a small serving of Maja and Biko. Yep, they have Biko too. Then I had two slices of pizza, three Lumpiang Shanghai - my, I'm very happy because they have this. Ehe. And then my favorite of all time, Spaghetti. Ahhh, heaven!
I had a fun food trip, though I ate alone because I chose to eat outside where there's no people. I enjoyed it more because I didn't feel anyone's gaze. Hihi. Overall, I enjoy it. The oldies, especially. Then Mama, who eats a lot. We get home with a happy heart and a happy tummy. \(^o^)/
