"What do you mean you’ve never been to the beach before?" Victoria asked, looking at Felicia like she had just said something bizarre.
They were having lunch at work and were just having some conversations before the end of their break.
"Yes, I just haven't gotten around to it" Victoria responded while shrugging it off like it wasn't a big deal.
"Why?" Victoria asked, pressing further, trying to know why Felicia hadn't gone to a beach before when there are lots of beaches around them.
*"Well, when I was younger, my parents were told that I am from the water (a marine spirit) that I should avoid going to the beach else the water will take me away. Felicia explained, earning a laugh from Victoria.
"Oh My God, Is that the reason? You know those are just superstitious beliefs right?"
"Yes, I know now but at the time, I believed it too",
"So if you no longer believe it, why haven't you gone on any trip to the beach?", Victoria asked one again.
"Well, maybe i just haven't had the time to go" Felicia said trying to end the conversation. But then Victoria is having none of it.
"Okay then, you know what? Why don't we go on a beach adventure next weekend?"Victoria asked looking at
"Uhm.. Well… " Felicia stuttered trying to come up with an excuse.
*"Well? Victoria asked, "It's not like you have plans with any guy for any weekend" Victoria said mockingly.
"Well, I know you don't, just like me, we are both "Single Pringles” remember, Victoria said, trying to get Felicia to agree to going to the beach.
*Well, you are right, I don't have any plans for the weekend, but I don't know… I.. "
"You know what? Beaches are also the perfect places to meet a guy, who knows, you can find one with whom you would ride the sunset together" Victoria said laughing.
"Yea right, this isn't the movie you know. You think I would find my Prince Charming at a beach?" Felicia asked, scoffing.
"Never say never, besides anything can happen when on a beach adventure There might just be a prince waiting for you to walk into his arms,* Victoria said taking Felicia’s hand in hers.
"Well, since you really want me to go, then let's do it" Felicia said, finally giving in.
"Yes? Yes!!! Wooohhhoo" Victoria screamed earning a stare from some of their co-workers.
Felicia joined the company where Victoria works about two months ago and that was how their friendship started. They are both in the same department which also helped them bond better.
The first day Felicia was introduced to Victoria as her co-worker, Victoria knew they would get along so well which they did. They had most things in common and one of the things Victoria loved about Felicia is that not only is she hardworking, she also has a great sense of responsibility.
On the D-day, they got to ”THE LASANI BEACH” with their bags, Victoria had a small bag which contained what she would need for their two-day stay at the beach. Felicia's bag on the other hand was way bigger than Victoria's.
"What did you pack in that bag anyways, it's a 2-day hangout remember?" Victoria said.
I checked on the things that I needed to pack online and just bought all the essentials,
"Essentials! Wow! That's something" Victoria said laughing out loud.
They got to their lodge and settled in. Afterwards they changed into their beach wears and made their way to the beach.
As Felicia takes in the sight of the waves, taking in the smell of the beach she closed her eyes and allow it to sink in.
"Wow! This is so beautiful. Thank you for suggesting this, there is no doubt we would have lots of fun here", Felicia said feeling happy she finally decided to come to ththe beach.
Just then, a guy jogs by, winking at Felicia while she smiled sheepishly.
”And I also think you are right, anything can happen on a beach adventure”
