As a lover of action movies, especially those seasoned with suspense and shooting, I believe ANGEL HAS FALLEN is a top-notch, interesting movie that I will recommend any day and anytime.
LIONSGATE and MLLENIUM MEDIA really did well with this 2019 movie, which featured great actors like Morgan Freeman, Gerard Butler, Danny Huston, Lance Reddick, and Tom Smith’s Jada Pinkett Smith, among others.
Mike Banning, a top security agent for President Trumbull, was framed by the vice president, Kirby, and his very close pal, Wade Jennings, in a bid to take over the government from the incumbent president.
The movie kicked off with a training scene where Mike was seen having a training session, and he seemed to have defeated everyone except his friend Wade, who shot him.
In the training process, one of the participants got angry with how Mike defeated him and almost took it personally. Wade stepped in to control the situation.
The interesting thing is that the first scene of the movie is more like a summary because Wade ended up being the one that “shot Mike in the back,” conniving with Kirby and a few other in-house security agents.
The conspiracy led to the killing of many security agents, and the initial plan was to wipe out the president and Mike, but Wade couldn’t do it.
President Trumbull and Mike escaped the assassination and were later rescued, but both were in a coma.
Mike snapped out of the coma only to find out that he had been chained to his bed as a suspect. His wife, Leah Banning, was also told some lies in order to instigate her against her husband.
However, she refused to believe any of the lies and boldly declared her trust in her husband.
With the help of his father, Clay Banning, Mike was able to defeat his enemies and win the president’s trust.
Clay once abandoned Mike and his mother and had to live in the woods due to the challenges he faced during his military service.
Mike never had the intention of looking for his father, but his problems forced him to search him out, and they later reconciled.
In the end he was welcomed into Mike’s family to stay as long as he wants. I had always believed that tough situations can yield good results, and this is a testament.
Aside from the themes of love and reconciliation featured in the movie, another thing I love about the movie was the action, the shooting, and the creativity of Mike in defeating and confusing his enemies.
At first, he escaped the hospital to locate his father and later came back to the same hospital to prove his loyalty to the president, who later woke up from his coma.
I don’t really like how several good agents lost their lives in the battle between good and evil. However, this is more of a representation of reality.
My rating for the movie is an 8 out of 10. Watch it and thank me later!
