Greetings
Bimpe was the name of the beautiful damsel I met on campus when I was an undergraduate. Then I was in my 200level, so was she. Though we were not from the same department as I was in the department of History and this damsel I'm talking about was from the accounting department, but, guess what? we both attend the same fellowship on campus. So, it's in the fellowship that I met her.
When I first met Bimpe, her beauty and fervency in the fellowship drew me to her. Though I know nothing about her academic performance, but I was so sure of her being a brilliant student even if not the best student in her faculty. So, for this reason I decided to make friends with her and not to shoot my shot at the first instance. Though, I would have shoot my shot when I first met her had it been we met ordinarily in class or any other places, but because we met in the fellowship I couldn't shoot my shot due to the lay down rules that guided the fellowship which stipulated it that, fellowship members must not be in any relationship with each other until they are done with their primary assignment on campus, which is studies.
So, for this singular reason, both I and Bimpe started as friends. We both started as friends and we were both serving in the same unit in the fellowship which was the technical unit, so this made it easy for both of us to be very close together. So, anytime we were to set up for any of the services, I and Bimpe would always go for the setup together and together we live, so, this relationship was seriously getting closer and closer and the bond was growing stronger than our expectation. There's times that whenever she's coming to meet me for us to go for the setup together she would bring along with her cooked food for me. Atimes just for me to return the kind gesture, I would also give her money or buy things for her. Seriously, we were both becoming the best of friends that I have imagined.
No sooner than later, when people in the fellowship started suspecting that something was going on between both of us and mind you, like i said earlier, we've been told the rules and regulations that guided the operation of the fellowship and suspecting us would have amounted to them thinking we have broken the laid down rules. So, on a particular sunday, both I and Bimpe were summoned to face the disciplinary committee of the fellowship, they drilled us with questions separately and to my greatest surprise without even pre planning it, we gave the same answers to the questions being posed to us.
So, after all what had happened in the fellowship, I and Bimpe decided to go low key in our friendship which has seriously metamorphosed into a relationship and this was because of the warning from the fellowship that if we were being caught of having any kind of relationship other than friendship together, we would be sanctioned. So, for this reason, we went low key.
But thank God, we were both close to writing our final year exam and all these things would be over, I said to Bimpe, who replied me by saying, Sam, it's like everything should be over so that we can stop this hide and seek relationship. When she said this, I was so happy within me to have heard such statement from this beautiful damsel whom I love so much . So, not quite long, we started our final exam and before we know it , we were done with the exam and as I have planned, i proposed to Bimpe on the last day of writing the last paper of our final exam. That day was the happiest day of my life and this was because, it's a double celebration for me, the first was the writing of my final paper and secondly my proposal to my long time friend whom later became my partner.
So, after the exam, we went our separate ways, but still communicating and seriously nothing really changed about our relationship as the relationship was even getting stronger day in day out. Though we were running a distant relationship, but notwithstanding, we do communicate every seconds of the day both day and night. Apart from our communication,
There were times we fix date and time.for our physical meeting and this has always been going on well with the relationship counting 5 years already. So, both of us really ensured that things were working in the relationship. Though we used to have our misunderstanding as well but the misunderstanding would not even last till the end of a day and gradually, we were getting to know more about ourselves daily. Though we've not met both parents of ours, but the parents were already aware of our relationship but in an unofficial manner. There's a day I spoke with her mum on phone, I was shocked when she said, Sam, mummy want to say hi to you. So, she gave the phone to her mum and her mum greeted me and said, Sam, we will be expecting you very soon. I was so happy because i was being introduced to her mum to me, this is a guarantee that she belongs to me.
Hmmm! But not quite long things began to take another form and it's then that whenever I called Bimpe, Bimpe would not answer me and if she eventually answer her call and I asked her as to why she didn't answer the call placed to her number, but her response would be like, Sam, don't you know I'm busy? And I would be like Busy? Busy doing what? And it's then she would hung up the call, this has been happening and I could not really withstand it anymore. Even if I sent her text, she would not reply me.
So, on a particular day, which was on a February 14, I decided to give her a surprise by visiting her unannounced, so, a day before that day, I went to the mall to get those things that I knew she would cherish and on the February 14, I set out as early as possible and traveled down to her place, but while on transit, i was calling her but she was not answering, but i kept my faith intact that nothing would be wrong. So, when I got to Lagos, I called her again, but this time around, her number was switched off. It's then I decided to move to the bank where she works and on getting there, I asked of her and I was directed to where she was, on seeing her, I went straight to her desk where she was attending to a customer as a customer care representative and after she was done with the man, I went straight to sit in front of her and as I was sitting down, she hushed down this big hiss at me, at first, I thought it's a play, not knowing she meant it. Also, I thought she was angry with me and that it would be something we could resolve amicably. But she said she's done with me. I asked her why, but there's no response from her, she even told me she's on duty and that I should leave. I couldn't believe what happened and that was why I couldn't leave in a rush, so I waited till after her closing hour by hanging around.
So, at closing hour I saw her coming out of the banking hall . I also noticed a guy who just had been
hanging around earlier, but I didn't know the guy was waiting for her until she entered the guy's car.. Seriously, it was a rude shock that l couldn't help, alI I bought to surprise her fell from my hand and I couldn't console myself anymore because I knew I lost her already. Immediately I wiped my tears and decided to trace both of them to where they were going. Alas! It was an eatery and there and then, I tried her number, but she was not picking up, but as I continued trying it, she barred my number and that's the end of the relationship. It all ended on the 14th of February 2021. Had it been I had her mum's number, I would have called her to know what was wrong, because she was closer to her mother and that's the only person she could listen to but I didn't have her number. it's a painful experience, but I have to live by it as life goes on.
