Fetching water from the well is the most disturbing thing to me.
Although, I have been used to living with fetching water from the well, even from the stream in the past years which has been part of from maybe due to where I hail from, where we live with no tap or government tap that comes once in month. So, due to this reson, we have adapted ourselves to such life. But not anymore.
Ever since I moved into this my new apartment, after I got married last year, I have been used to using tap or running water with the use of sub massive pumping machine. So, I didn't know life was that easy, until I tasted another way of life by fetching water for my everyday use without drawing water from the well.. which has always been my way of life. Now, I now use running water to wash my clothes, my dishes in the kitchen, to taking my bath by using shower and a whole lots of other things. It's good to live a good life.
But recently, something happened that led me back to fetching water from the well. Just imagine after a year of enjoying portable and running water from everywhere in the house, the machine stopped working and the water stopped working. What the hell is this? So, I resulted to fetching water from the well in our compound. But then, I was looking for a plumber to help me repair the machine, but all to no avail.So when the time was not on my side while looking for the plumber, I decided to check if I could do it myself.
So,on a particular afternoon coming back from work, I was full of thought as to where the fault might have come from. So, when I got home, I decided to check the on and off switch box.When I checked it, I realized the wire there has melted, so, I re fixed, i also, tried to check the pipe carrying water to the septic tank and I realized there's nothing wrong with it. Also, I checked the wire connected to the pumping machine and then I realized it was intact.
So, after all these checks and refixing, I waited for the electricity company to bring the light, but I waited all day for the light to be brought but all to no avail. It was then I decided to on the generating set in the house to test what I have corrected, but lo and behold, I got the repair and I felt happy for getting it, all because I could do it myself, without the help of a plumber and electrician. What a great joy in my heart.
Now, I can now go back to the factory setting of my last year, by fetching water from the tap in the compound, washing my dishes with the running water in the kitchen, washing my clothings with the running in the compound and even taking my bath with the running water from the bathroom. Finally, I did it. Indeed water is life and no one dares make enemy with water.
