Posting here last year's recap as reference, especially since 2023 was my first year into Hive blogging. Below is the latest recap for 2024.
Power Ups
I committed to Power up by 100HP each month, in line with HPUP day (1st day of the month). Happy to say this was achieved and I've added more HP for whatever available Hive that I had. I realized, unless I'm planning to buy something, it's better to stake my coins while idle. I am interested in increasing my hive stake, though I hope market prices wouldn't shoot up immediately so that I can accumulate more.
Staked HBD
I have actively bought HBD for passive income given its 15% per annum return (even started at 20%). I like that it is pegged to USD and acts as a stable coin but with higher yield. As I near the 1k mark, I only buy HBD if the price is right.
Written Posts
I wrote content based on my interests and depending on my mood. I guess I'm the type of person who writes slowly which hinders the volume of my output. It is only very recent (November) that I was able to write consistently (so far) once a week as I've decided to be active again in monitoring my portfolio. It comes more naturally as I get to write in the form of a trading journal. While I analyze my portfolio weekly, I get to post and share my thoughts regularly now as well.
Communities
@leofinance is where I mostly write my content because it is mainly Finance related. @splinterlands is next given that this is what introduced me to the blockchain and I sometimes geek out in terms of strategies or interesting insights.
@asean.hive I wanted to expand more towards ASEAN content so as not just be in a bubble for Philippines alone.
Meet Up with @hiveph
2024 was also the year where I had my first face to face meetup with other Hive users. The meetup was a banger. Although I wasn't able to write about it, there were great write-ups from the other attendees for which they've described the event well; hence, nothing more for me to add.
2025 is Exciting
Crypto has strengthened once again, though I don't want prices to soar too fast so I can accumulate better.
Splinterlands will be releasing a new core set soon. Hopefully they've already learned a lot from past mistakes and pave a new onboarding wave.
I intend to stay active in Hive this year. I'm still a bit lost in the forest of this Hive blockchain. Gradually learning more and hopefully sometime I can reap the rewards. Though money is not the main motivator, I like what I'm seeing in terms of use cases, potential, community, technology and to sum all things up: experience and learning. It would be best to just reinvest the rewards and achieve the goals at the same time.
