Getting older images to work
As you know I am in a new journey of trying stock photography, one of the reasons is that because I have too many photos just standing in folders and doing nothing!
So if I can have them online and give them the chance to be licensed and put to use by someone else that might need them. Why not?
The fun and good thing about stock photography is that there are obviously some things that are more popular than others but there are also a market for literally everything and whatever you photograph might be used by someone else, you never know when the need will appear.
Like these dead fish just laying on the pebbles coast of the UK, these are some weird photos that might one day be used, who knows, talking about a disgrace, nature events, pollution and even global warming, they can have so many different types of uses.
By leaving them on my PC folders, they are not doing anything for me, uploading them on microstock agencies, they might be making me money.

Are these artistic or pretty photos? Will they be earning prizes or be shown in galleries, I don't think so. That doesn't mean they are not good photos and can be used in certain ways to be bringing you some benefits.
Focus on something different
I know now that when I am taking photos maybe I need to plan a little bit more on creating images that are suitable for my stock photography portfolio as well. Because as per now a lot of the images I have are editorial and not able to be used commercially because of the copyrights.
But in the meanwhile, I will be adding all the editorial photos I have here and also the few commercial ones like these ones.
Knowing that they are not very popular and might not get licensed very often, but that there is always the chance. That until now, on my laptop, had zero chances.
Have any of you tried stock photography or video? If so I would love to know what is your experience and how is it going for you. I am just in the beginning and I will be sharing my experience and maybe we all can learn together.
First lesson, and I will talk more about it. It is a lot of work and also you will need a lot of patience.
But we will talk more about the time, work and patience needed to get into stock photography and video in another post. For now I just want you to know, that it is not easy, and you should not believe in those type of videos and posts that say, "How I make thousands of dollars in 30 days with stock photography".
Those are lies.
