Introduction
Anyways, today has been a great day. I had an event today and I also got work done when I was done with the registration part of the event. Anyways I will be sharing my three songs for three tune tuesday hosted by ablaze. Last week, I shared some songs from Nayeon from Twice. Today, I will be sharing some songs from Simple Plan. Simple Plan is one my childhood bands and I'm sure there's others in my generation that relate.
#1. Welcome To My Life - Simple Plan
I feel Welcome To My Life is a great song to start off. I really love the lyrics and meaning in this song. The song is about someone that just wants to be understood and fit in. Based on the lyrics, this person has nobody to depend on. The person is struggling and they could possibly be ready to give up on life. I feel this song is super relatable to what's happening sometimes in the world. There's a lot of people that are struggling sometimes but they feel they are alone because they have nobody to listen to them.
#2. Untitled - Simple Plan
I promise I'm not emo but this just ended up as another emo song. This song has a great meaning which can be seen from the video. The song is about making a mistake from driving under the influence. At the end of the video, you can also see there's a statement sharing that traffic crashes are the no. 1 killer of teens and 1/3 of them is alcohol related. I'm not sure if this is still true but I love how they were able to use their song to help bring awareness to this issue at that time.
#3. Perfect - Simple Plan
Ok leaving their legendary song last. If anybody knows Simple Plan, it is most likely from this song. This was played a lot on the radio when I was a kid. It's another sad song but this one is about disappointing parents. This can be inferred from the lyrics "hey dad" and "I just want to make you proud". The guy feels that he isn't good enough because he can't meet the expectations of his father.
As an Asian, this song really resonates with me. When I was young, I always felt like I had to meet high standards like getting all As and stuff. A for Asian you know. I actually did up until high school and then stuff happened and I started getting Bs and Cs. I think a lot of people can relate to this song because even now I hope to be 'successful in life' and make my parents proud.
