Introduction

Last Saturday, I met my boss at Sunset Junction for a late dinner. He came after his last meeting of the day and I walked from my house. This place is super close to my house about a two minute walk! Please don't try to find me though but hey if you are from Malaysia and want to have dinner here some tiem do hit me up.

Sunset Junction

Sunset Junction is a restaurant that only opens for dinner from 6pm-midnight. They are closed on Sundays though. It's ran by a Chinese family and if I'm not wrong the restaurant is outside of their house which is pretty cool. If you see from the thumbnail, the place is quite chill with beach chairs and some sandy floor. There's also wooden picnic tables. It kind of gives those picnic on the beach vibes I guess. Honestly, the place seems to be popular to have some bbq, chit chat and have some beer. The reviews are overall great with a 4.2 out of 230 google reviews so I had to give it a try.

Food

My boss and I ordered two dishes to share with each other. The first one is the BBQ lamb. I really like the lamb; it was tender and a good taste to it. I'm not sure how to describe it. You will have to come here and try it. I can see why a lot of the reviews mentioned to try the lamb. This is the dish the restaurant is known for.

The other dish we ordered was the Saba Fish. If not wrong, it's a mackerel. We ordered a full fish and they cut it in half so don't be confused from the photo that it looks like two fishes. Before eating it, we squeezed the lemon to give it that extra punch in flavor. I'm usually not the biggest fan of fish. I prefer salmon and sushi but this saba fish was pretty good. I enjoyed it and I would definitely go back to eat it again.

I don't have the pictures of the drinks but I had plain water and my boss had a tiger beer.

Concluding Thoughts

The receipt is kind of old school. The bill came out to be RM70 which is about $16 USD. It's a bit pricy in Malaysia standard but I think the food was worth it. My boss and I enjoyed it and want to go back sometime to try some of the other items on the menu. I'll give this place a 4 out of 5. I highly recommend if you live in Malaysia to give this place a shot! I've shared the menu in credits if you are interested; I love it when the whole menu is on one page!
