Introduction

About five days ago the conflicts for Eternal Tofu ended. I managed to get one copy of it and sadly I wasn't as lucky as the last conflict with getting it as a gold foil. It's all good though as I will have another chance with the upcoming conflict Elias Max Pruitt. Today, I want to review these two summoners and how they fit in the meta.

Eternal Tofu

Eternal Tofu is a beast. It's a dual element with life and earth. In summary, it's a Mylor on steroids. Mylor was a super meta card in melee only rulesets and I think Tofu just became one of the top summoners for this ruleset in Modern. I think this card is a bit too strong with giving 3 units divine shield on top of already have the +2 health, snare and thorns which is pretty insane. It's basically giving 3 cards 4 abilities. I looked at the top battles in champion and this card seems to be a commonly used summoner. I kind of wish I had a max copy to try but I'm out of funds to own one so maybe in the future if it gets cheaper or maybe I'll rent it if the rent isn't too crazy.

Elias Max Pruitt

As you can see, Elias Max Pruitt is the upcoming summoner from the conflict airdrop. It gives the team 1 melee and 1 armor and the choice of armor repair and cleanse, or armored strike and piercing. Honestly, it seems a bit lackluster compared to Tofu. I don't see how this card could fight back in a melee only ruleset against Tofu. I could see it opening some interesting strategies because of the water element. Imagine a deeplurker that can cleanse a baakjira and armor repair itself or baakjira. That could be a new strategy who knows. I can't really tell if this card will be meta but I genuinely feel that at the current state it seems too weak. Eternal Tofu got a last minute buff with the thorns if I'm not mistaken so maybe Elias will get a last minute buff too.
