Introduction
Hope everyone is having a great weekend. My weekend is just about ending and actually tomorrow will be my birthday! I'm thinking of going for hotpot or getting something nice to eat that's for sure; I will have to figure that out tomorrow. Today, I want to share where I'm at in Splinterlands and my thoughts.
STAKED SPS
There's nothing to hide here. All my Splinterlands stuff can be seen from the blockchain. You can see here that I have almost 250k SPS staked. I'm content with the amount I have and honestly hope to unload some at a higher price. I feel like after being in the web3 game space; I've seen the trend. The trend is always a cycle and it's hard for nfts or tokens to hold value as it just follows the cycle. On top of that whenever there is money to be made from a web3 game, there's extractors and ways that people try to take from the ecosystem. Money going out not matching the money going in just results in asset value going down over time. I do enjoy the game and all but I think I've put too much into this game hence why I want to load off some of my assets when things get better.
Cards
According to peakmonsters, I have about 3.6k usd worth of cards. I have a lovely collection and an awesome goldfoil kitty that I won from a giveaway which I have still kept until this day. It's actually on my land right now which I will share later. I have all the chaos legion reward cards maxed out and that's including the pelacor bandit era as well as the soulbound era. As for the rest of the cards, it's kind of all over the place. I believe I have most of chaos legion core at gold league and higher. My gladius cards are all near gold league now. I'm now focusing on getting all the soulbound and hopefully maxing them out for rebellion.
Land
I wasn't so lucky with my land draw. I pulled all commons but if I'm not mistaken all these lands are ones I got from opening chests. It's kind of sad that they dropped from like 30 bucks each to around 10 bucks each. I should've seen it coming since there's no focus on land right now. I haven't fully utilized my land either since it's very expensive. I'm only working one of the plots with some Gold foil legendary cards.
What Am I Waiting For
Team has said they are focusing on NPE. I think everyone is waiting for that light at the end of the tunnel. Things don't look too bright now but I believe they can do it. Firstly, they will have to remove the spellbook purchases. I feel that gatekeeped a lot of people and growth. The app should come back as a free app and the purchases should only be made on website and not on the app if they are scared to lose money to google or apple. I think at the end of the day; it's just awesome that people in Splinterlands can sell their stuff. Like for league of legends, I wish I could sell my skins without having to sell my whole account. Outside of Splinterlands, I'm hoping to see a successful web3 game that solves the problems of game economy and jumping to next ship. I want to see a quality game that stands through all the web3 gaming issues and listens to the community.
