The Real Superheroines of Hive Valley

a webcomic, by Matt S. Law

Sorry, no posts for a bit. Even missed out on this week's Kickman. Not sure what my problem is, just feeling particularly lethargic and non-productive. But I am back, and hopefully drawing and writing a storm the next few days.

This was a much harder panel to draw than I suspected. Invisible-torso-Mary getting hugged from behind by Phantom Lady. I drew it and I keep getting confused about whose hand is who's. (who's is whose?). Then as I was drawing it, I realized if she's hugging her, then her boobs are going to get smooshed into her, which I'm pretty sure would look like... well that. Good thing the cameraman was quick on his feet to get the right angle.

Boilerplate:
The Real Superheroines of Hive Valley is a webcomic about a reality television show following the lives of seven public domain superheroines that all live together in the same mansion in the elite community of Hive Valley.

You can read the series from the beginning ---> HERE.

Created in Clip Studio Paint Pro on my mobile art studio which is a Microsoft Surface Pro 7+. Here is the time lapse video:

I did wonder for a moment what was going on. Your 'special effects' may be easier than in the film world.

Well, if we look at the behind-the-scenes making of this panel (in film) you would see Mary with her torso painted green, Then that would be superimposed over footage of Phantom Lady mock hugging around her while pressed up against a plane of glass. Wait... how would I get Phantom Lady's arms in front of Mary? A-ha! An additional set of footage with Phantom Lady completely covered in green except from her shoulders to her fingertips. Wow. Movies are hard.

Hence the slight difference in production costs.

Yeah, I don't even have any green paint. And if I did, I don't have a green screen.
