Coins with lunar themes are released by mints all around the world annually. The Royal Australian Mint produces some of the most well-known, and I like it very much. It is my most favorite series of Lunar coins.

2024 Royal Australian Mint Year of the Dragon

Perhaps it is the design of the obverse of the coin (which is copied by some private mints). All 12 animals on the lunar calendar frame the effigy of the monarch.

Every year, the lunar calendar rotates. This year, the Lunar Dragon is placed directly over the head of Elizabeth II.

Coin Highlights:

Arrives in a capsule or a roll of 10 coins.
Celebrates the Year of the Dragon.
Limited mintage of 50,000.
Contains 1 Troy oz of .999 pure silver in Brilliant Uncirculated condition.
Bears a face value of 1 Dollar backed by Australia.
The obverse field features Queen Elizabeth II.
The reverse side showcases a lunar dragon design.

It still kind of annoys me that these zodiac coins don't use the actual zodiac chinese characters. Dragon is 龍, true, but in the context of the zodiac it becomes 辰.

But I digress. This is maybe the best Asian dragon image I've seen on a coin yet. I love it! I should try to order this one.

I agree. I think this is the best dragon coin (and series) around. I bought mine from JM Bullion for $34. Most dealers increase the price after the first offering. I came out much later than the Perth Mint Dragon.
