After a long time without posting I am back with a post about my trip to Battambang with 2 guests that you might already know.
I am back with another post and I want to introduce @jokeyes to everyone. So she was our Swedish guest who came to visit us a month ago, but she already left to Thailand this morning. During their stay in Cambodia we took them to Battambang. We were only there for a day since we have to go to Siem Reap but we still had a little fun. I think when we were there we went to the market since Joe (@jokeyes) wanted to get some hats so my mom took there to this place in the market that sell second hand hats.
At the evening we went to the riverside to get some avocado shake since Sam (Joe's boyfriend) wanted to get some. My dad also wanted some so we were on our way to get some shakes. My dad got a coconut shake, Sam got a fruit shake, Joe got avocado shake I think, and I think that's it. While we were there there was like a night market going on since it is near a festival called Om Tuuk. I think if we were to stay in Battambang for a few more days we could watch the race. To bad we gotta go to Siem Reap.
I manage to get some picture when the competitors were practicing. I don't know if other countries does this too but boats here for the festival are usually really long. I think it is 20m or so, it could be longer or shorter. It usually have a lot of people on the boat and I think each boat has like a dancer. So the one festival that was in Battambang wasn't the big one, I think the big one is celebrated on the 14th 15th and 16th November.
After that we went to the night market and we bought some stuff. It wasn't big or anything but it was still fun to watch people have fun. There was also a concert but we didn't stay long enough to watch it but it was fine. After that we just left to the guesthouse and get some sleep before our trip to Siem Reap the next day.
