One of the ways one can be ahead and be in order is to be timely and do things when exactly they are needed to be done without waiting till the point of deadline. When you approach your tasks or duties this way, you put yourself ahead, make all possible mistakes and take corrections to them in time. It puts you in order and gives you respect as someone who keeps to time and does things at the right time, when needed. This can be applied to different scenarios, as I will be explaining below.
Scenario 1:
Imagine you are given a task and a deadline to that task of maybe a month. As someone who is timely, you will most likely take things in urgency and will begin working on the task immediately without having to wait till it is already half way close to the deadline before starting the task.
What makes an average person is not treating their tasks and duties with urgency, taking them lightly, and waiting for the feel of motivation before starting to work on them as compared to a highly effective person, who approaches his task with timeliness and urgency at heart.
Scenario 2:
Imagine you are invited to an event at 10am, and you live 2 hours drive from the location of the event. As a highly effective person, you plan to arrive at the event 30 minutes to 1 hour before the event starts.
Why so?
That is because many things can happen along the way: traffic, flat tyres, name it. You plan ahead and take into consideration things that can ruin the journey and if they happen, you are prepared for it and if they don't, you arrive early to the event and have enough time to get yourself prepared for the day.
As they say: "Plan for the worst, but hope for the best"
I have been looking into my life and noticed that I am so used to being an average individual. I am the type that does not start a project immediately, that arrives an hour late to an event, and that do not necessary treat matters with urgency and this self-awareness inspired this post.
As someone who is aiming to transform his life and become a highly effective individual. These are parts I have noticed and will work on improving on.
