Barred owl

Rainy day

A barred owl visited our backyard on Thanksgiving.

Owl in garden

We saw him on the corner post of the garden. On top of the birdhouse I put up. Neighborhood owls are probably not welcoming to bluebirds looking for a place to raise kids lol

Closer

I grabbed our camera and moved closer.

In woods

Until he flew away into the woods.

Birdhouse

I think the thing that all birders share is the desire for a better zoom lens 😆 no matter what you are shooting with a little more would always be nice.

That's cool to see and even more cool that you were able to capture a picture of it.

Thanks. We hear them alot but don't see them very often.

What a beauty! I never see our owls during the day although they are definitely active at light - we hear them and see their dark shadows as they fly around hunting

I love owls. We seldom see them during the day but hear them mosts nights. One of the things I don't like about winter is I have to close my windows at night and can't hear the owls 🙁

These are some super cool shots! It gives off an ominous vibe though I do love owls! haha

The owls are watching... yeah it is kind of ominous. Funny we always stand around and whistle or wave to get them to look at us.

Lucky, I haven't seen an owl in ages. We always need a bit more zoom, I've seen a guy lugging something huge that needed a monopod for jus the lens alone. It must have weighed 30 lbs. Knowing the way birds work all the nice owls hid when they saw that huge zoom lens.
