Ok that was a clickbait title... there is no moose in this post
There is Mount Moosalamoo. The center of Moosalamoo National Recreation Area. More info here ---> National Forest website
The rocky face near the top surrounded by red/orange trees is Rattlesnake Cliffs which I hike up to a few times a year. And of course post photos 🙂 The peak of Mout Moosalamoo is 2,625 feet.
The national recreation area has 70 miles of trails and 16,000 arces. Everything you would want to do in Vermont you can do here - camping, hiking, fishing, birding, mountain biking, cross country skiing, snowmobiling, snow shoeing. Ok no downhill skiing but there are resorts and back country skiing opportunities nearby.
Back to the clickbait... there is a charming childrens book titled "I Never Saw a Moose in Moosalamoo" 😂 I must admit I am in that club although there are sightings all around the park, I have never saw a moose in Moosalamoo.
