Stuart's 20/20 World Cup Series 33: Semi-Final Review

Semi-Final One Afghanistan 56 all out v 60/1 South Africa South Africa WIN
On a pitch that moved the ball all over the place the hostlie bowling of a quality Sout African attack woefully outmatched an Afghanistan team who have done so well in this tournament and deserved a wicket which at least allowed batsment a chance of competing.

With three players out for a duck, and only one able to scrape to doub figures, the first innings ended before the end of the 12th over.

South Africa knocked the runs off in 9 overs. Farooqi added a final tally to his wicket hall for the tournament, but the attack just didn't have the pace to make the pitch as terrifying for the more experienced and seasoned South African batters.

Semi-Final Two India 171/7 v 103 all out England India WIN
Rain delayed the start of play. Rain interrupted play. If rain had done the decent thing and washed the match out India would still be in the final, and England would have avoided the humiliation of being bowled out for 103.

India batted solidly, though not spectacularly, to compile a total towards the top of what may have been expected from the Guyana wicket. England started their response well but once the first wicket fell on in the fourth over they went into a spiral that was reminiscent of the worst days of English calypso-collapso.

On Saturday the two most consistent teams of the tournament meet each other in the final. India have been their before and I expect them to be the team winning this trophy.

The whole rain thing made me laugh.
I didn’t know rain delays sports activities, is it dependent on the magnitude of it?

Cricket is a sport particularly susceptible to rain. it changes the characteristics of the leather ball, and makes the ground slippy for running on.

a light shower may be ignored, but steady or heavy rain can become dangerous for the players

Oh okay
