Match 2 - Peru 0-0 Chile
Two teams who have, between them, scored four goals in their last twelve matches played to type and failed to find the net in the second game of group A.

In front of 43,030 spectators there was little to cheer for. A sixteenth minute pass from Victor Davila was blasted over the crossbar by Inter Milan's Alexis Sanchez. In the forty-third minute Sergio Pena's free kick was firmly headed by Miguel Araujo and Claudio Bravo was forced into an acrobatic save.

In the second half Gianluca Lapadula had two chances to break the deadlock. The first was a feeble shot easily saved. The second a volley from a Pena corner which forced another save from Bravo.

The result will give Argentina confidence of topping the group with maximum points and should offers hope for Canada to fulfil my prediction of qualifying second.
