Happy day, dear friends! Today I want to share with you in the #dailyblog community a special moment I spent with my father at El Rincón Criollo restaurant.
I tell you that a few days ago, my father asked me to accompany him to the bank to do some paperwork. Although he doesn't look like it, he is already 82 years old and bureaucratic procedures make him impatient. Since I have been a little more relaxed with work, I took the time to accompany him.
He likes to drive, so I was appreciating the surroundings. That day dawned a bit cloudy, but as nature is capricious, the weather composed itself in the blink of an eye. When we finished at the bank, it was time for lunch and we decided to go to El Rincón Criollo restaurant, which is very cozy.

Les cuento que hace algunos días, mi padre me pidió que lo acompañara al banco para hacer un trámite. Aunque no lo aparente, ya tiene 82 años y los trámites burocráticos le impacientan. Como he estado un poco más relajada con el trabajo, me tomé el tiempo para acompañarlo.
A él le gusta manejar, así que yo iba apreciando el entorno. Ese día amaneció un poco nublado, pero como la naturaleza es caprichosa, el tiempo se compuso en un abrir y cerrar de ojos. Al terminar en el banco, ya era hora de almorzar y decidimos entrar al restaurante El Rincón Criollo, que es muy acogedor.
The service is incredible and, as we saw when we entered, one of the chef's suggestions was mahi mahi mahi fillets with garlic. We really didn't want to miss that. They brought us the menu and immediately prepared our order. In the meantime, I went to the table where they present the different fish to see what other variety there was before they brought us our order.
La atención es increíble y, como vimos al entrar, una de las sugerencias del chef era filetes de dorado al ajillo. La verdad, no queríamos perdernos eso. Nos trajeron la carta y enseguida nos elaboraron el pedido. Mientras tanto, fui a la mesa donde presentan los diferentes pescados para ver qué otra variedad había antes de que nos trajeran el pedido.
I like this restaurant not only for its fast service, but also for its friendliness and coziness. The treatment they give is familiar but with a lot of respect. They immediately brought us the juice, then the cassava seasoned with garlic and parsley, which I thought was excellent. I had never tasted it prepared that way.
Este restaurante me gusta no solo por la rapidez en su servicio, sino por lo ameno y acogedor. El trato que dan es algo familiar pero con mucho respeto. Enseguida nos trajeron el jugo, luego el casabe aliñado con ajo y perejil, que me pareció excelente. Nunca lo había probado preparado de esa manera.
Next we were brought our garlic steak, which was excellent and served with great taste.
Seguido nos trajeron nuestro filete al ajillo, que cabe decir que era excelente y servido con mucho gusto.
When we finished, we were asked if we wanted dessert. To tell the truth, I couldn't eat more, but my father, seeing the cart with the different sweets, couldn't resist the temptation and asked for a quesillo. I only tasted a small corner to please him, and it was really delicious. He devoured the whole thing; he eats with tremendous gusto and is a very good eater, his motto is “He who eats the most lives the most”.
Al terminar, nos preguntaron si queríamos postre. La verdad, yo no podía comer más, pero mi padre, al ver que traían el carrito con los diferentes dulces, no resistió la tentación y pidió un quesillo. Solo probé una esquinita para complacerlo, y de verdad estaba delicioso. El lo devoró completo; él come con un gusto tremendo y es de muy buen comer, su lema es “El que más come más vive”.
They asked us if we wanted anything else, with a beautiful smile. We just asked for the bill and let them know how pleased we were with their service. This restaurant is very familiar and informal, and is very similar to the ranchones criollos in my country. That's why I had such a good time, not to mention the soft music you feel while eating, making the whole environment very pleasant.
Nos preguntaron si deseábamos algo más, con una bella sonrisa. Solo pedimos la cuenta y les hicimos saber lo complacidos que quedamos con su servicio. Este restaurante es muy familiar e informal, y es muy parecido a los ranchones criollos de mi país. Por eso la pasé tan bien, sin contar la suave música que se siente mientras comes, haciendo muy agradable todo el entorno.
After paying the bill, we decided to take a short walk around the restaurant, since it is in a central area of the city of Porlamar, where there are many stores and businesses. The truth is that we needed to walk to settle our fullness.
When we returned to the car, my father thanked me for accompanying him. He told me that these moments together were very precious to him, and I couldn't agree more. Sometimes, in the daily routine, we forget how important it is to spend time with our loved ones.
Después de pagar la cuenta, decidimos dar un pequeño paseo por los alrededores del restaurante, ya que está en una zona céntrica de la ciudad de Porlamar, donde hay muchas tiendas y comercios. La verdad que necesitábamos caminar para acomodar la llenura.
Al regresar al auto, mi padre me agradeció por haberlo acompañado. Me dijo que estos momentos juntos eran muy valiosos para él, y yo no pude estar más de acuerdo. A veces, en la rutina diaria, olvidamos lo importante que es pasar tiempo con nuestros seres queridos.
