Comparing the views with the European countries was the first impression from my colleague from Thailand seemingly an overstatement for me during my travel to the northern area of Beijing. But sooner the natural beauty of the region made me convinced that I was wrong and my colleague's point of view was more accurate. So, you can easily understand that northern Beijing is much more attractive than any other part of Beijing. But unfortunately, most tourists can not afford to visit the northern areas which are really too far and a little bit more expensive to travel.

As of me living about 60 km north-eastern Beijing is just the beginning of the northern area. When I select the most scenic area of my district Huairou where I live just 6 km away from the center, it is another 85 km straight north to visit that scenic area and it will take around 4 hours by public transport and 300 RMB by taxi. But I have a plan to visit the area in the future with a proper plan of 2/3 days. It will really be an amazing experience to travel around 150 km north of the Beijing city center!

This time my location was not so far as it was a day travel with some of my colleagues with our own car that took around 55 minutes to reach there. The place is around 45 km far away from our dormitory. The place is on the other side of the Miyun Reservoir which is the biggest water body in Beijing city and I have already written a blog about that insane lake-like reservoir. This reservoir supplies water to the whole northern Beijing as this area is dried and very less amount of rain is seen in the area but there are several water reservoirs in many valleys of the hundreds of mountains all over the northern regions. The water is reserved for the snow and ice of the winter season as this whole area is covered with snow during the whole winter.

This is the western side of the Miyun reservoir and the bigger part of the lake is just behind the first layer of these mountains seen in the figure.

This part of the river has a larger width than anywhere I have explored and the canal is truly a river-like water body when I compare them with my country's rivers, as Bangladesh is a riverein country.

This is one of the largest rivers that carries water to the inner side of the Beijing municipal. There are dozens of rivers that are actually canals in my point of view. But these can be said the lifeline of the Beijing municipal for sweet water for agricultural processes and forestation processes that is massively being done in recent times all over Beijing.

Interestingly fishing is prohibited tot this river and I was disheartened to see the board not allowed to fishing. As I have bought my fishing rod and related things for fishing but it is very difficult to find a good location for fishing! We have tried different locations that allowed for fishing but all of them ran out of fish, I have seen dozens of people fishing for several hours but only 2/3 of people were successful in catching a single piece of fish which was also very tiny fish!

Also, the river enters into the mountain range where it starts becoming narrower than it is in the reservoir end. The narrower parts is more beautiful than the broader part as the mountains by the both side of the river are so attractive to draw a picture of perfect natural beauty in your mind.

I can feel that the riverside white stony mountains with greenish carpet and the blue water due to the blue-sky reflection make a view that you can not find in most of the corners of the world. Even in my country, we have many rivers but most of them are in plain land, so such kinds of views are really rare in my country. And the countries in the middle east or many part of the world has no rivers having many mountain ranges.

The shadows of the clouds on the green islands of the lake make a wonderful view to explore the lake view as you are standing in front of a sea with crystal clear water.

The lakeside mountains add another layer of beauty to nature as you dive deeper into your imagination and explore the beauty of Mother Nature.

There are also many sightseeing areas where you can go by walking like some damn, and mountain tract to climb to the peak for vast views. But we didn't do that because we were running out of time as we came here in the afternoon.

I have taken a lot of photos from different directions with different zoom levels to make the views stunning and cover all the areas closely. You can spend a day just walking around the area and discovering new views. You just need a mind of exploring nature deeply.

Moreover, the constant fresh air from the lake will make you fresh whole the time which will let you never be tired at all. Fresh oxygen can heal you from the inner side.

Most importantly, the transportation is enough as the roads are so good to have travel in this far area of the Beijing municipal. Also, you can find several shops and markets nearby to buy anything like snacks, water, drinks, fruits, and some fresh products from the local farmers.

As I only drink water and take water with me always, I didn't buy anything. But my colleagues bought some fresh fruits from roadside local market.

These photos were taken from inside the car while we were traveling to the location and my colleague from Thailand was saying that he is assuming that he is traveling in Europe!

I have no experience of Europe but I can assure you that the surrounding views were really eye-catching undoubtedly with the beautiful roadside views.
