The Robots Are Coming And The Internet Of Everything

in #hive-16792216 days ago

Technology is changing the world in ways few imagined.

The pace at which things are developing is incomprehensible for most. Even those who watch this closely are being blown away at the pact of progress. At the head of the list is AI.

When considering the impact all of this has, I keep returning to the basics. Our world is becoming ever more digitized. Companies are working on the "digital factory", which is a rendering of a plant, even before it is built. Like much of the world around us, devices operate based upon a digital overlay of the physical space.

It is just a simple example of how things are being altered.

Tied to this is the idea of robots. They are coming, not quite at the speed of AI (software) but still impressive. By the end of the decade, it is likely that hundreds of millions will have rolled out.

Hence, we are entering an age where the digital realm is at the center of most of what takes place.

The Internet of Everything

Those involved in cryptocurrency and Web 3.0 most likely heard of the "tokenization of everything". Have you ever thought about what that truly means?

Without doing this, one might miss how all of this interacts.

One of the mind-blowing revelations is that, if we have the tokenization of everything, that means we are dealing with the Internet of Everything.

That means the separation between atoms and bits is blurred. Actually, we could make the case that the bits become more important.

Of course, we still live in a physical realm. There are needs we have as humans which are based in biology. We are not saying the physical world disappears. Instead, we mean that the digital component is the basis.

If we are honest, this already happened to a degree.

How long can we go without the Internet? Consider that seriously. Everything from communication to paying our bills is tied to it. Much of our entertainment along with information comes from this medium. Go without Internet for a week and one has no idea what is going on in the world.

Software Eating the World

Marc Andreeson is famous for stating how software is eating the world.

Perhaps he was ahead of his time. Many railed over the years how this did not occur. Actually, if we step back, we see it spreading. This is not an instant transition. However, we can see how the tentacles keep spreading.

Robots are going to be driven by software. The neural networks that companies are setting up only creates the potential for faster advancement. Here we have a circular nature that grows with each robot added.

In short, these are spatial beings that excel in accumulating data.

Ultimately, this means faster software development, expanding into virgin territory at a more rapid pace. This is a paradigm, on every level, that we are not accustomed to. People allude to the disruption from an economic and societal standpoint, and for good reason.

The robots are going to complete fantasies long held by sci-fi fans. While many discuss the flying car, I think Rosie the Robot from the Jetsons is more fitting. In a world with a couple hundred million humanoid robots, we are looking at something coming right out of Star Wars. C3PO is a better representation of this idea.

They are the bridge between the worlds of atoms and bits. Until humans are directly connected, something that is also taking place between implants and "swallowables", this is the major thrust.

It is also what is going to feed the software, pushing things to even higher levels.

Robots Expanding

Our conception of robots is limited. We get our vision from Hollywood which trained us through television and film. There is, however, something else taking place.

We are looking at anything that moves, and isn't biological, being a robot. This means our definition has to change.

A robot will be anything that is spatial, moves around, collects data, and is software driven. With this, consider what will fit under this concept.

Suddenly we are looking at any type of transportation as being robots. The same is true for drones. Devices that use to be consider equipment could now qualify under this definition. Even children's toys could be designed for this purpose.

Of course, if we keep in mind the feedback loop, as more robots are created, all with sensors collecting data, software development keeps accelerating presuming the processing capabilities keep up.

In a world with trillions of sensors, most everything will be connected. If you want to see how fast things are changing, just count the number of devices that you own which have a chip in them. Compare that to how things were decades ago.

Which brings up the final point:

If we have the Internet of Everything, we can also expect all of this to be tokenized. This is why Web 3.0 and the new ownership model is crucial.

I agree. A lot of people think robots are just going to be humanoid ones, but it isn't limited to that. Because of AI, a lot of things will be replaced and changed, and a lot already has.

One of the more popular forms of robots, at least so far, is the ones replicating dogs.

So they will come in many different forms.

The idea of everything being connected, from robots to everyday devices, shows how reliant we are on the digital realm for almost everything now. All this should be done in a Decentralized manner because the more we advance in technology the more power is handed to centralized tech organizations

Rather than being thrilled, I am terrified by the idea that everything is connected.
(conspiracy theorists)
Of enslaving the whole world in their unique system and injecting the microchip in our right hand with the covid vaccine (just kidding). 😅
But I do worry about the lack of individual privacy in every advancement 😱.

Also the tendency is to think of everything connected to one database or server system that is what we are use to.

With near infinite networks, the opposite is the case. (potentially).

Considering privacy is a relatively new creation, it is something that isnt a major part of human history.

That said, who is to say that it we cant build things in ways that protect it, at least to a degree.

I guess humanity is not very trustworthy let's say.......

-They make war 😷cof cof cof cof Russia vs nato cof cof cof cof cof cof😷.
-They destroy the environment in the name of a few for their eagerness to Enrich themselves.
-They are divided in their own EGOistic ideas.
-They create more and more weapons of mass destruction.

So I would be surprised what they use technology to try to enslave 99% of the people just I mean just I mean....
