In terms of EV cars Tesla has destroyed it's competitors like GM motors and Ford, while Toyota is even struggling in the EV race with it as well. Only the Chinese Evs dominate Tesla motors however outside the US not inside it if I am not mistaken.
I think a big problem of the Tesla killers is that they are mostly focused on cars. So when the sales are slow and low, it affects them hard. Tesla on the other hand has other sources of revenue for their business. There's the batteries and solar, then there are other services. While beating Tesla's EV sales are still possible, it will be difficult to kill a company with multiple income streams.
