A Record Day For Leo Threadcasts

in #hive-16792215 days ago

Today was a very impressive day on Leo regarding threadcasts. This is something that is getting a great deal of attention of late. We are looking at the potential this can provide to Leo.

We had a discussion about this on The Lion's Den. It is something that we are going to see get an upgrade from a technical angle.

The model that is being utilized is Twitch. Here are some of the features that are going to be added.

Those who utilize Twitch should recognize some of these features. It is taking right from their concepts.

Record Day On Leo

There were a couple of records set.

The first is with regards to the most comments in a single threadcast. That was held by the hive-br community with a bit over 3,100.

Here is what they did so far.

As we can see, it will surpass 3,500 by the time notifications are answered. This is quite an accomplishment.

The second feat was also something that taught us more about the InLeo UI. We were under the presumption that when the first line of threadcast icons filled up, a second line would start. The idea was that everything would drop down.

That is not how it works. We can fit 7 threadcasts across the top without issue. Once the 8th is added, this is what happens.

As we can see, the slider bar appears, allowing for the user to see the older threadcasts. Remember, the icons remain for a period of 12 hours before disappearing.

Today, for the first time, there were 8 threadcasts going at the same time.

Video Streams

We are still looking for ways to enhance the streaming capabilities.

One thing that does work is the ability to have livestreams from YouTube placed onto Leo. This is done by right clicking on the video (YouTube) and clicking "copy video url". The video with the watch it in, i.e. the video url in the address, will not work. This provides nothing but errors.

When using this feature, the video can be placed in the top thread in the threadcast.

As an aside, one of the features that will be added is the ability to pin threads in a threadcast. This means the video itself could be placed in a comment and pinned, providing people with the stream right there.

As we can see, this is a thread. If I had used the threadcast tag, it would set it up as a threadcast.

What this does it it provides the opportunity to have a live stream along with the threadcast as one.

Threadcast Use Cases

It is now up to us to innovate and come up with use cases for threadcasts.

The most obvious is the idea is what we are using. When there is some kind of broadcast, simply create a threadcast to accompany this. It is what is done for the AMA and The Lion's Den. It can be for any type of event such as an awards show or a sporting event.

As #hivebr showed, one can be set up as a place for a community to gather. This is something that is done daily.

Recently, there is the addition of a daily Photocast, which is a threadcast for photography. Over the past week, this has been consistent in the activity, with photographers sharing their photos.

It is an idea that could extend to any hobby or passion. Whatever people are into, it could be a threadcast that allows for engagement.

There can also be education opportunities. How about the idea of setting up a threadcast to provide new users with a place to ask questions and get some guidance?

In a couple weeks I am going to be setting up a movie night, a threadcast that will contain a film. We will start it at the same time and engage as it is playing.

Success Tool

Nothing is easier to market than success. Here is where the community is in complete control.

As we get more threadcast, it is up to the community to support them. The features are starting to roll out. Each time someone sees a new one, stop by and leave a comment or two. There is no reason each of the threadcast cannot support each other.

For example, do you ever see people posting photos on threads? If you see that, take the thread and drop it into the photocast.

That is a simple way to support that one.

We have a track record established with the AMA. That typically gets between 500-700 comments. As we ratchet things up, this could end up pushing 1,000. That is a use case that could be promoted to other broadcasters.

That said, there is no reason why we, if someone is watching or listening to a livestream, that a threadcast cannot be opened. It does not have to have the participation of the people on the broadcast.

The point is these can be used for anything. There is a presidential debate coming up in the United States. Why not have a threadcast related to it? Millions are going to watch it, with some being on Leo.

Here is where the creativity, experimentation, and innovation of the community enters.

The tool is there. We are the ones who need to utilize it.

“Thrilled to witness Leo’s threadcasts breaking records! The community’s engagement is remarkable. Pinning threads and integrating video streams will enhance the experience. Let’s innovate and explore diverse use cases. Leo’s success is our collective achievement! 🚀🌟” 😊🦁

It can become a pillar of Leo. This is something that we need to start getting accomplished.

Absolutely! Leo's potential as a pillar is immense. Let's collaborate and make it a reality. Together, we'll achieve greatness! 🚀🦁

Together means collective activity.

That is a great sign for threadcasts. Copying some of the models from Twitch is a good idea. I think their UI is very clean and works well with viewers.

its ok that will be breaking a lot easier once we get millions of users ; ;

Well that is true although we will not get 1 million users if the site is dead. We need engagement.

o.o site cant die u wouldnt let that happen

This is to actually see that the platform of Leo is getting massively developing

There is a lot building.

Movie night, sounds interesting.
There are a lot that can be done with threadcast and I'm sure more users will buy into it.

There is a lot that can be done. We just need people to be creative.
