Of late, more focus is being paid to threadcasts. This is something that can be a valuable part of the LEO ecosystem.
So far, the utilization is tied mostly to broadcasts. We have the weekly AMA, The Lion's Den, Chain Chatter, and nOowthe weekly marketing spaces. Each have a threadcast tied to them where the presenters on the spaces can interact with the audience.
There is also a few that are set up each day. @caleb-marvel has The Party Room, which is a daily threadcast that is used to discuss and share music. @hive-br is also doing something similar, an area where members of the Brazilian community (but not limited to them) can get together.
I personally think this is an area that has not been given enough though. We can innovate this to a much higher level.
This is what we will delve into with this article.

Threadcast As A Pillar Of Leo
Threadcasts have the potential to be a pillar of the Leo ecosystem. We know that engagement, especially during broadcasts is a great way to share information, get data on chain, and interaction with others.
For example, there was the Tesla shareholder meeting the other day. I did a threadcast for it, detailing what was being said on stage. A couple people commented that they were not able to watch it for various reasons but the threadcast helped them stay abreast of what was taking place.
This was something that was spur of the moment. Yet, it does show some of the potential.
It is a feature that can be used for just about anything. Here are a few ideas:
- Sporting events
- Awards shows
- Livestreams
- television programs
- movie nights
This is a list just off the tOP of my head.
As stated, we need to get innovative. For example, @sergiomendes set up a photocast where he posted a threadcast that was related to photography. Anyone who has photos they took to share could do so.
This is an excellent way for members of that community to get together and enjoy the talents of each other.
Therefore, it is up to the community to become more involved in this process. We honestly have no idea how many can appears at the top of the page.
As an aside, there is one thing that I learned the hard way. If you set up more than one in a day, two icons will appear. The problem is the second threadcast will be located under each.
For now, this glitch in the system.
By the way, setting up a threadcast is something that is part of Leo Premium.
Technical Advancements
The question is what can be added from a technical angle. There was a call put out about this so we llL have to get our thinking caps on with this one.
One idea that I am toying with is turning threadcasts into broadcasts. I do not know the technical details to make that come into being but it is something to ponder. Can we integrate more multimedia into a threadcast?
It might not be possible yet is some thing to consider.
Another question is regarding video. We are going to see video integration into Leo. This is coming soon. With Threads, we are going to be able to post short (Leoshorts). How will this enhance threadcasts. In fact, can we set up threadcast around shorts?
What other forms of multimedia can be integrated? Here is where the community coming up with ideas.
Even if it isn't at this scale, what features could be added. The idea of pinning threads to the top of the threadcast is helpful. We have discussed the idea of a schedule in the past. This is something that could help to make people aware of what is coming up.
How many other things can we add? What are some other potentialities?
This is what we have to come up with. How about polls in threadcasts? This could be something beneficial. How about a listing of threadcasts on the person's profile, similar to blogs? Could this be a part of developing something where threadcasts have more longevity.
At the moment, threadccasts are available for basically the 12 hours the icon is on the top of the page. After that, they are done. Will this enable people to utilize threadcasts for other purposes, continuing the conversation passed the allotted time?
It is time to see what potential there is with this feature.
