colors starting to change in Buttonwood Park

Well temps are slowly dropping here and signs of fall becoming more apparent, the other day a friend onFacebook whois also the lead of a group called Friends of Buttonwood Park, which is a group that has meetups to do work to help maintain the park mentioned to me in the Arbotereum in the park the colors were coming, so that prompted me for one of my rare during the day walks to chekc out the park.

now this is a quick selection of a few of the shots I took on that walk that I will share today,
I have bene out most mornings for walks this past week and for the first time in a while I can say I am well behind in editing the photos from recent walks, but with the colors changing so quickly I wanted to share today how the colors are now, and I hope to get out at least once a week back to the park and other parks in the area to ctach some series of shots as the colors change.

a little about th epark
Located on 97 acres in New Bedford’s West End, Buttonwood Park is the largest and most visited public park in the city. The park is an oasis of nature right here in New Bedford, with gardens, a pond, an arboretum, walking paths, a playground, a zoo, and several ball fields and basketball courts.

Buttonwood Park is not just a treasure for its recreational opportunities — it’s also a historical treasure. In 1895, Charles Eliot of the famed architectural firm Olmsted, Olmsted & Eliot developed the original master plan for the park. In 1988, a new Olmsted-inspired master plan was adopted, serving as a blueprint for The Friends of Buttonwood Park to improve the park.

In 2000, Buttonwood Park and parts of the surrounding neighborhood were listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Today, Buttonwood Park offers the community a place to escape from the stresses of city life and enjoy nature.

now I used the #aap tag so I should say something about that its an iniative started by @friendlymoose who is trying to establish and support more interactions betwene photographers here on Hive which I think is a great idea, a Discord Groupd has even been created for the group so if interested check it out here https://discord.gg/GgFyXkJn

and the idea behind the AAP tag is to ask a photographer, perhaps you would like the idea of having some fellow Photographers give you feedback on your photography then use the AAP tag and some will check it out if this takes off

as you can see the colors are still in the early stages in the park, but was a cool walk and I look forward to heading back there again soon

It's nice to see the trees change their colors during autumn. It's just a short amount of time we can enjoy this before they trees will be barren again.

I like the combination of colors 👍. The greens, the blue sky and the leaves turning red, yellow and orange. I do think the shots are quite similar. You could have chosen a different point of view for one of the shots, for instance from right under the tree pointing up.

I do love the fall colors but yes they come and go so quickly

Thanks for the feedback and yes a very good point, I should have included a couple from doifferent perspectives

Great shots! The colors are starting to turn here too. We have a tree near where we live that I noticed yesterday is bright red where all the other trees around it are green. It sits on the edge of a farm field and it stands out so much when you are driving by.

thanks, and we have a few trees like that really standign out with their early colors surrounded by the greens

Buttonwood Park is a very nice place to walk and have a good time there, plus you can get very good shots like you did. You can see autumn there, a good season and very attractive.

Thank you for sharing this historical treasure with us @tattoodjay friend!

Have a great day.

Glad to see that your photos have returned to its normal excellence my friend. You are slowly drifting towards winter, and we have summer approaching now.

funny how our seasons are the opposite was talking to my sister in NZ about that yesterday

Oh yes, we also see it here, and they reckon that the world is now in an "in-between" period, whatever that means.

Thanks kindly your support is appreciated

Have a great day

Nice shots of this cool park. Oh so welcoming the fall. Some leaves are changing here too. Looks like one more mow of the grass here and than I can kiss goodbye to the lawn mower. It really feels like fall doesn't know what to do here. Suppose to be 96 tomorrow here which I'm sure is some kind of record. At least the morning are cool high 40's low 50's

our grandson did the lawns for me yesterday I think that sis our last time for the season now a few weeks of clearing up the leaves

Colors are starting here also. I took a hike yesterday and saw some great colors. Photos to follow...

cool I look forward to seeing them

Hi @tattoodjay! This is @ninaeatshere. What an excellent initiative of the group to maintain the park, a good excuse to spend time with friends and also document these activities 😉📸 Autumn is perfect to take those photos you're talking about, it's just starting to change and the contrast of the trees changing their leaves with all that green still in the background is beautiful. I really liked how you presented the spaces, the story and your visit to the park, it's a lovely place.

For me, this period of transition from raw greens to autumn colors is my favorite time of year, even for a short time, I can't wait to find some time to take a walk in the surrounding woods and observe these transformations.

yes i love this time as well, even if it is short and like mother nature teasing us before the greys of winter
